The cottage is in a nice location.

It is in a quiet lane. No parking on that street for this cottage? But other cottages park on the street Parking is difficult, but a permit is provided. This didn't work well for us as my mom is 80 so there was a lot of moving of the car to make sure she didn't have to walk too far. Cottage was well equipped in the kitchen. Has everything you need. Bedroom with bunk bed was good and comfortable. Main bedroom was clean but bed was very uncomfortable. You can feel slats of bed through mattress. Bathroom is small but clean. Shower didn't work well for my 6foot3 husband. He couldn't stand up straight in the shower. Floors downstairs on arrival weren't cleaned well but overall was clean. May need the rug in living room cleaning as smelt of dogs. I personally moved it so my dogs didn't wee on it to cover other smells. Garden is small but useable. Shame there was no access to shared larger garden. Harlech is quiet. Has a few shops and chemist. No general store. Has Indian, Chinese and chip shop but only open certain days. CafÃ© on main square was really nice and did really good hot chocolate. Would we stay again? Probably not as not really suitable for our needs. Information folder in cottage needs a complete overhaul. Not been updated for a great deal of time. It looks as though other users of the cottage have done updates themselves!

Saw it had a welsh name, Bwthin y mor, disappointed it had been changed to an English name, why!

. It was decorated according to the welsh name. Tv wouldnt work so had to call ownwer who came immediately to show us how it worked. From him, we discovered that there was no BBC channels, and that there was a firestick so there were lots of other things. We had no idea about a firestick, everything we tried to watch seemed to need a sky card or a prime account so we were stuck with the freesat minus BBC programmes. In the summer this would not be a problem, in the winter it was. There should be info on how to use these things as well. We didn't know how to use the microwave/oven and avoided using it, again no instructions. Seating was uncomfortable, small and slouchy whereas I need something that would support my back. (bed was also uncomfortable but this is a personal preference). No instructions on recycling so we guessed at what went where. No bin in the kitchen. Shower has mould growing and is very poor. Took ages to get soap from my hair as the shower wasnt powerful enough. Bathroom generally needs some modernisation

Most cottages I have stayed in I leave thinking 'that was nice' but would probably try somewhere different if I was in the area again.

Bron Castell is clearly an exception and it will be number one on my list if I come back to the Harlech area of North Wales again. The size of the accommodation is impressive and any larger group that took advantage of the additional accommodation in the eves would have plenty of room. They are not joking when they say the property is on a steep hill but its only a few hundred yards down to the main road or up to the castle. To have level parking in such an area is a real bonus and its reassuring not to have to worry about parking whatever time of day you choose to come and go. The quality of the WiFi was excellent and the cottage itself was very well equipped. The friendly owners were very proactive in resolving a minor issue that they let us know about by text on arrival and they also quickly resolved a wasp issue that we pointed out. The view over the bay out of the bedroom windows is fantastic. It probably helped that we were blessed with almost perfect weather but I have no hesitation in rating the stay 5 star

Really enjoyed our break at Stoneycroft .

The house is tastefully finished inside & to a high standard, very much home from home . Access is good from where the car is parked making it easy to carry cases in to the property.The kitchen is well equipped ( Loved the coffee machine) & the welcome pack was very welcome :) As there was only 2 of us we obviously only used the one bedroom which had a really comfortable bed ( slept well). The one bedside lamp didn't work properly but didn't cause a problem . The only other thing was the blind in the picture window in the dining area was brokren . Again this wasn't a problem as your'e not overlooked . The views from the house & garden are brilliant . If there is a problem , its got nothing to do with the house but where it is , halfway up a very steep lane, which is a real lung buster when you walk up into the town , which would present a real problem if you had any disability. Other than that thoroughly recommended.

The cottage was listed as being 10mins walk from the beach.

However it was actually 10mins walk down very steep roads then, 15 mins walk through the golf course and sand dunes. The walk back up was challenging unless you are super fit. One of the roads to the beach bears a sign saying "The Steepest Street in the World" and has a gradient of 37.5. The closest convenience store and the pub had closed down and the restaurants and takeways in Harlech were not open every day so it was necessary to drive somewhere to eat. The cottage was comfortable but in need of some refurbishment and there was no welcome pack or anything like that. There was some sketchy information about the local area but more detail would have been helpful if, like ourselves, you are new to the area. There was no visitors book with tips and info from previous guests. Although we wouldn't stay in Harlech again due to the lack of amenities, we would definitely visit the area again.
