About this property

Tan Isa is a well-presented bungalow situated below the iconic castle in the historic town of Harlech, Gwynedd. Boasting a stone-built exterior and conveniently placed just a short walk from the town centre and a mile from the beach, this pet-friendly abode invites couples for a serene stay in the Snowdonia National Park. Step into Tan Isa, and you'll be immediately taken back by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The open-plan living space houses a well-appointed kitchen, so you can rustle up a home-cooked dinner to be enjoyed at the dining table, before slumping on the sofa and flicking on the TV. The one double bedroom is the perfect spot to rest and recharge, and the bathroom with its bath and shower over will help you feel refreshed for the next day of exploring. Enjoy your morning coffee from the gravelled garden, complete with bistro furniture set, before heading to the convenience store and grabbing the ingredients for a tasty breakfast. When you’re eager to explore, atop the hill lies Harlech Castle, medieval fortress, with its imposing walls and majestic towers, transporting you back in time to the days of knights and battles. If you fancy a meal out, the popular Y Branwen is perfect whether you're craving a hearty plate of Welsh lamb or a mouthwatering seafood platter. Harlech is also home to an excellent golf course, so why not enjoy a round or two before making the most of the golden sandy beach? Escape to the Italian-style village of Portmeirion and discover beautiful architecture with inspiration from the Mediterranean or lace up your walking boots and tackling the rugged Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, home to the mighty Yr Wyddfa. There is also opportunity for mountain biking, birdwatching, wild swimming and even zip-lining! Choose Tan Isa for your next break to Gwynedd.

Situated in a magnificent position between the mountains and the sea, the delightful small town of Harlech is dominated by its majestic 13th century castle. Harlech Castle is recognised as the most impressive of all those built in North Wales by Edward I and has World Heritage status. The town is very popular with golfers, who come to enjoy the famous Royal St. Davids course, whilst the beautiful sandy beach is wonderful for family fun and long walks. Harlech offers an excellent variety of amenities including some good quality restaurants, whilst the whole of the Snowdonia National Park, together with the sandy beaches of Cardigan Bay, are all within easy reach.

We were there in March, when the park was very quiet, so can't comment on peak season. Access to Harlech and the castle was excellent, a short walk up the 'world's steepest street' (less steep alternative available), with the beach and a good shop equally convenient.
