"Lovely cottage, very clean and comfortable. A home from home. Would definitely recommend to others and would return"
Geoff ‐ 13 Oct 2018
"Wonderful for up to 3 people. One bathroom with no downstairs toilet slightly limiting."

"Just excellent! Cottage had everything you could wish for. A fantastic place to holiday. A home from home! Kitchen well equipped for cooking. Comfy bed. Telly with amazon prime and Netflix for nights in. Quiet location and wonderful beach a short walk. Cot and highchair for little one. Attention to detail everywhere that made it luxurious. Well done!"

"Potentially a nice holiday cottage spoiled by lack of attention to detail. We didn't get off to the best of starts as the first thing to greet us on entering the cottage was a strong smell of fish. So rummaging through the kitchen for a tin of air freshener, there was none, we came upon the welcome pack. Bread, butter, milk and a bottle of white wine, there was no tea or coffee so what were you thinking, toast and a glass of milk perhaps? There was no salt or pepper either, no cooking oil, and the dishwasher had warning lights on for no salt or rinse aid. A trip to the local shop was first priority. Luckily the shop was still open, closes at 5pm and just a short walk into the village. We got back to the cottage and while my wife was unpacking I set to with the air freshener and then attacked the heating. Although there is a thermostat at the bottom of the stairs I realised that all of the radiators had been turned off, consequently the house was a little cool in the evening, except for the bathroom which was hot enough to be a sauna. The radiator valves were stubbornly stuck and took a lot of work to open, some didn't make it and stayed stuck. While on the subject of heating you should know there is no access to the boiler which is right next to the bedroom and switches on and off constantly, not helpful if you are a light sleeper, so you have to try and get a balance between keeping the house warm in the cooler evenings but not so much that the boiler keeps you awake. On the subject of sleeping I noticed complaints about traffic noise from previous guests, we arrived Friday evening and to be honest I thought they were exaggerating, however come Monday morning the traffic noise started, early morning as people head off to work, light sleepers beware. The cottage is dog friendly, as is most of Northumberland, and as a dog lover and the owner of a lovely black Labrador I think this is a great idea, although we couldn't bring ours with us as we normally live in Spain. There are however a few downsides to being pet friendly, the neighbours letting their dogs out each morning to pee on the plant pots and table legs in the courtyard, putting some washing in the excellent washer/dryer provided and having the first lot come out covered in short hairs, and then suffering flea bites on our legs after the first evening. Unfortunately I am allergic to bites and my ankle was swollen and covered in an itchy rash, trip to Boots in Amble to top up on Piriton and then an hour spent hoovering the living room and in particular the sofas sorted the problem and no further bites. On the subject of dogs I presume the stains on carpets and sofas were from previous pets.Despite all this we really enjoyed our week in Warkworth, it's a lovely area I just hope this particular holiday cottage gets a bit more care before future guests arrive."

"The cottage was excellent! The only reason for the two nines was that there was no coffee maker and we couldn't get fresh fruit and vege in the village .We came by train , therefore used buses and taxis to get around. This proved to be no problem at all. We had to arrange things with the taxi driver in advance because I couldn't get a signal in the cottage. That could be my old, old mobile!Overall, a wonderful holiday!"

"The cottage is very cosy and in a lovely central location in Warkworth. Ideal for exploring the local area and the beach only a mile away. There are some good pubs and cafes nearby and the castle is only a 10 minute walk. The cottage is in a quiet location near the river. We had a really lovely relaxing break."

"An extremely well equipped and furnished cottage. The location was perfect offering short and easy access to the local pubs and restaurants as well as impressive landmarks such as the castles and beaches. Permanent parking is not available at the cottage but you can offload luggage etc temporarily before parking in the villages main car park just a few minutes walking distance away. Overall a great stay at this cottage."

"Just spent a week in S77480 and what a delight it's been!.The cottage was furnished lovely and beds were really comfortable. The lovely enclosed yard was perfect for my little dog and we made full use of the table and chairs outside for Al fresco dining! We would highly recommend staying at S77480 and hope to return."

"Had the best time staying in this beautiful cottage in one of the loveliest parts of our country. Excellent facilities in the village of Warkworth, fabulous walks by the river, fantastic beach too which our pooch Belle absolutely loved. Majority of the village pubs, shops and eateries are dog friendly which was fab!We went out for days up and down the coast and found lots of gorgeous places but none as perfect for us as Warkworth! Just brilliant from start to finish."

"Well equipped cottage in central location"

"Access is a bit of an issue, due to narrow road and parking. Not the cottage’s fault however. Hard to park near the cottage. But not an major issue. No control on heating timings - again I fully understand some people may have it running 24/7 - but the boiler is right next to the bedroom, and we didn’t need it coming on so early or staying on so late. There is a thermostat that you can knock down. Warkworth is lovely, the roads are very busy. It’s a good location to see the north east, but don’t think rural idyll. Cottage is highly quality, clean and tidy. Nicely decorated and maintained. Friendly owner."

"The cottage is beautiful But the noise from traffic outside is terrible it is on a main road and very noisy, The real problem is parking. I parked my car round the ally to unpack my car a man who drives a learner driver car came knocking on my window and shouting I'm I a resident in a very aggressive manner. Then followed me to the cottage shouting at me to move my car. I left the car there until my husband came back as I was frightened to move it on my own. At 8.30 the next day I had someone banging on the cottage door and shouting at me to move my car!! I moved it to the open car park at the front. They are doing drain works in Warkworth village limiting car space to half the amount even resident carpark full!! This needs sorting out before someone gets hurt. The residents are really aggressive!!!"

"Amazing cottage in terms of quality on all aspects, the impression is of cosy warmth in the heart of a great village."

"Had a lovely Christmas break here with our dog. The cottage had everything we needed and was very clean, warm and comfortable. Lovely to find Christmas tree and decorations up along with welcome pack including a bottle of fizz! Nice quiet courtyard location and easy parking in the village. Enjoyed hearing the church bells too. Hoping to return in Spring. Love Warkworth and would definitely recommend S77480!"
