Lovely cottage and setting and on arrival the cottage seemed nice, cosy and clean.

However their were a few things needed a bit of extra cleaning. The extractor fan in the bathroom was full of dust and the bottom of the shower seal was mouldy (I have photos). The bed mattress was very roll together, the skirtings needed a clean. On the plus side it was lovely and warm. The kitchen was well equipped and the sitting room lovely and cosy. The setting was beautiful. I would have liked more information on the cottage. When was it built, what did it used to be, who painted and why the mural. Also possibly lights at the end of the lane to the main road. We drove past it twice in the dark. Just a few little tweaks and it would have got the extra smiley face.

We were delighted with this pretty and unique accommodation and in the standard of it all.

It was warm, the bed with its beautiful bedding was SO comfy We slept like babies! We particularly liked the recently installed bath that has handles and a grab for the shower... Too many accommodation providers are installing trendy high sided baths that are not safe for so many visitors. Everything was gleaming clean. We liked the parking inside the gate and the pretty garden that was secure for our dog who enjoyed his daily walks nearby. The whole area has so much to offer with nearby coffee house and eateries... The owners are so welcoming and provided treats for both us and our dog so we have no hesitation in recommending!

The Smithy is a wonderful property - professionally managed by a great team at Walwick Hall.

The reservations team at Walwick helped us out with a 10-day booking at very short-notice and it turned out to be one of the best stays we've had in the UK. The property setting is lovely - a converted stable block set in well maintained parkland grounds. It's a private site in a rural setting but it's close to a number of towns including Corbridge and Hexham. The layout and facilities at the Smithy are excellent plus the property is immaculately presented. There is also an option (by booking) to access facilities and dining at Walwick Hall. We had a great time staying at the Smithy plan to visit again. Most highly recommended!

This was a beautiful little gem and the perfect weekend escape.

It was cosy and and warm, the owners were close by for anything we needed and the surrounding space is perfect for dog walks right from your front door. I had read that there are some WiFi issues which didnât concern us too much, but it did mean that watching any TV was challenging as it just wouldnât stream properly. There were also a few bits that we didnât bring as weâd assumed they might be at the cottage like shower gel, and milk but we were able to go out and get those and to be fair they had left a couple of small bottles of Prosecco and some dog treats for buddy. Weâll definitely be back.

We had a lovely stay and would definitely return.

The property was very well equipped with good quality furniture and equipment. It made the stay very comfortable. The welcome hamper was the best we've ever had it was a lovely gesture again with good quality items. The only thing which I would be being picky is it could have been cleaned slightly better. There were quite a few cobwebs and alot of dust ontop of the wardrobe. Which made its way down when the hairdryer was on. (Just a little note incase someone has an allergy) This would not stop us returning. Loved it i have already recommended to a few people. Thank you for a lovely stay.
