"Cottage was not clean and the furniture was tired. Downstairs smelt of stale wet dog. Location good, but would not book again"

"A pleasant property situated within easy walking distance of Windermere centre. The only let down was the parking. We chose it due to it having parking on site, but the listing fails to say this is only suitable for a very small car. Our Passat estate physically would not fit in. The on road parking alternative was full, so we had to park a considerable distance away."

"Super cottage in an ideal location, great having a parking space around the back as difficult to park on the road."

"Excellent location.... That's we're the good news ends, very tired property which is fine for the price and that can be excused. But.... damp in upstairs on suite, (could smell it not see it) damp in main bathroom. Dado rail's were black with dust, as we're skirting boards, don't think master bedroom had been hoovered between guests as found toenails on bedroom floor, not 100% convinced master bedroom sheets had been changed, there was blood on the sheets on one of the beds in back bedroom. Heading down stairs I had to clean the bath before use, the none slip mat is covered in mould, in living room, dvd doesn't always work, carpet next to skirting boards is black, dog hairs throughout the property (I knew pets were allowed but in previous properties I've stayed in this has never been a problem). In dinning room my 2 year old spilt some milk so moped it up and left a clean line on the floor. Kitchen was actually fine but had to clean the glasses before use. This property is filthy dirty, would not recommend I appreciate its nearing the end of a season and would expect things to be tired but can not forgive being dirty. Nearly left after 1st day, glad I didn't enjoyed windomere and will return but not this property. To be honest can not complain about Cumbrian cottages or owner really as I made an error in not reporting issues immediately so they did not have a chance to rectify any issues and cleaned and muddled through myself, however if this is representative of their properties I will look elsewhere in future."

"Great location for this cosy terraced house. We felt really at home here. Parking round the back is useful."

"we did have some issues which was raised with the owners. Leaking gutter off the main roof kept us awake all night as it rained very annoying. It was known about but had not been fixed. Chimney deposited rubble in the living room, cleaned up but this happened a couple of more times.TV lost the reception but we had no manual how to try and regain the channels."

"The location is good for Windermere, but Bowness has more attractions. Cleaning appears to be an unknown concept the house was dirty. The tooth brush glass on the sink was dirty with someone else’s tooth paste, gritty surfaces and fridge, cobwebs and dust around ceiling and lights. We moved an arm chair when looking for one of the kids toys and the area under and behind had obviously not been cleaned for a long time. The cooker however had all the settings rubbed off, so the hob you could work out but the oven was difficult to use not knowing what temperature it was at etc. The WiFi hardly works. It must be noted that the staircases in the property are steep, which would need to be considered for young children, elderly etc. The little drive although tight for a big car was a god send as we were there for Easter and there was no street parking available. With a good clean, updated kitchen appliances and a different internet provider this could be an excellent place to stay."

"Lovely comfortable cottage in an ideal location. Also private parking space available at the back. We had a lovely weekend break there in the snow. Cottage lovely and warm."
    Barbara ‐ 3 Mar 2018
"cottage was lovely the only thing that let it down for us was the to single mattresses were very soft and the double we rolled to the middle, but the cottage on a hole was brilliant ."
    KAREN ‐ 17 Feb 2018
"We've had a fabulous time. The cottage is well equipped and in a good location for public transport links. With local supermarket, cafes and shops there are good local amenities and with the bus stop just round the corner its easy (albeit pricey) to get around the Lakes on the bus. The cottage itself provides plenty of room with comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, spacious dining room and sun lounge, you can really relax after a good days walking/ out. Dog friendly. This is our third year staying at the Burrow and hopefully will return next year."

"Beautiful property in a fantastic location. We were very comfortable during our stay which included Christmas Day. The kitchen was fully equipped and we were very easily able to prepare a Christmas dinner."
