Snaptrip says

The Bothy in Windermere receives positive feedback for its quiet location, beautiful garden with lake views, and proximity to Bowness. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfy beds, and the property's cleanliness. Some concerns were raised about internet connectivity, parking space, and maintenance issues, but these were generally outweighed by the property's charm and the owner's responsiveness to problems.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests generally found The Bothy to be very clean, with only one mention of a mouldy travel cot, which seems to be an isolated incident rather than a reflection of the overall cleanliness of the property.

The location is highly praised for being quiet, close to the town centre, and within walking distance to Bowness and local attractions. The garden offers lake views, adding to the location's appeal.

The property is described as having comfy beds and a cosy atmosphere. However, there were some concerns about the lack of a child ladder for bunk beds and a broken travel cot, which suggests some room for improvement in this category.

Facilities are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and good quality white goods. However, issues with internet connectivity, parking constraints, and some maintenance problems with the toilet and hot water control have been noted.

While guests mentioned the provision of items like sandwich bags, there is no consistent mention of gifts or special touches that would fall under the category of thoughtfulness. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score in this category.

About the property: slightly disappointed there seems no easy recycling availability: I took all mine home with me. Also, the key holder is quite stiff to open!!

Far enough away from the centre of Bowness for peace and quiet but an easy walk (20 min) in so no parking required. A pretty garden with lake glimpses, probably views in the winter when trees are bare. The Bothy was amazingly well equipped. We brought so many bits with us but didn’t need any of them. However it would have been helpful to mention that there was a high chair and travel cot at the property as we were unable to request a baby package, and so we brought our own. The property was very clean and we enjoyed our stay and would recommend The Bothy.
