About this property

Perched near Windermere Lake in the stunning surroundings of the Lake District National Park, Cumbria sits Uplands Retreat, a delightful first-floor studio-apartment welcoming two guests. Benefitting from pretty views of the rural landscape, private parking and a convenient location near amenities and a range of attractions, Uplands Retreat is an idyllic base for couples, or friends sharing to share a memorable getaway. Enter the property into a generously-equipped kitchen, with all the expected appliances needed to make your self-catered stay a success; relish a romantic meal at the intimate dining table for two on the first-floor and toast to a fantastic getaway over a bottle of fizz. A large sitting room is situated close by and features a Smart TV and sumptuous leather sofa, perfect for sinking into at the end of a day of adventures. Completing the first-floor studio-layout is a plush double bed and sleek shower room, an idyllic haven to relax and unwind in before catching your sleep, or a splendid place to begin your morning before traversing the local town. From your doorstep, enjoy a great selection of bars, pubs, cafes, and restaurants which lie only a short distance from the property and offer fine wines and ales, as well as hearty dining where you can treat your other half on those evenings when you don’t feel like cooking. The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction lies only a stone’s throw away and offers a selection of modern displays dedicated to the work of the beloved children’s author; if you wish to see the former writer’s home, venture over to Ambleside where the National Trust owned 17th century cottage, Hill Top, resides. For a wide range of watersports including paddleboarding, kayaking and canoeing, spend the day at Lake Windermere, or for a more leisurely day out, take a sail across the lake to Ambleside where in summer you can take a horse drawn carriage from the centre to Waterhead Pier. Further afield, discover Rydal Cave, hike to the summit of Scafell Pike or enrich your knowledge of marine life at Lakes Aquarium; the popular towns of Kendal and Ulverston are also easily accessible from here, boasting Stott Bobbin Mill and Kendal Golf Club. Whisk your loved one away on an unforgettable trip to Uplands Retreat.

The twin towns of Bowness and Windermere are both lively, entertaining communities surrounded by the breathtaking Lake District landscape. Both towns offer a variety of services, businesses, and dining options to suit every preference, with the addition of a boat journey to Bowness, the Lakeside Aquarium, and Beatrix Potter's "Hill Top House" at Sawrey in Ambleside. The nearby Grizedale Forest Park offers a variety of activities, such as several pleasant hikes, mountain biking, and the "Go Ape" adventure park. For those who prefer an adventure-filled trip, the area also has a lot of National Trust estates and a range of water sports. The "World of Beatrix Potter" in Bowness will be fun for kids to visit, and other towns like Grasmere, Coniston Water, Kendal, Keswick, and the Lakeland Mountains are also easily accessible.

! The only negative i could say is you have to park your car pretty close to the hedge, apart from that, can't fault anything, it was perfect!! Immaculately clean and tidy. Switch the radiators on and its lovely and cosy really quick. I'm not the best at following a Sat Nav when it comes to getting to the Property. I drove passed it twice, but it was dark when I arrived. This place is so peaceful and a lovely view. Its a good walk into Windermere but that's what you do when you come to the Lakes, walk up and down hills. The owners are on the same site but leave you to it unless you need them, very friendly.

It's very well placed in Windermere for exploring the area and the views from the window are super. I enjoyed a wonderful stay, and will definitely return. Thank you very much.
