Enjoy a relaxing break with Keswick holiday cottages

Located in the heart of the Lake District National Park, Keswick is a market town full of charm and beauty.

Surrounded by crystal-clear lakes, majestic mountains, dramatic peaks, and breathtaking countryside, Keswick is a haven for hikers, nature lovers, and those looking to get away from it all. Plus, with attractions such as the Keswick Museum and Art Gallery, the Pencil Museum, and the mysterious Castlerigg Stone Circle, you won't be short of things to do.

You'll need the perfect Keswick holiday cottage to complete your lake adventure. And that's where we come in. At Snaptrip, we have scoured this pretty destination to find only the best holiday homes. From cute little cottages tucked away down quiet streets ideal for a romantic getaway to spacious traditional houses with private gardens ideal for a family break.

Just choose the perfect accommodation to suit your needs, make yourself at home, and head out to explore the stunning local countryside.

Why choose a Keswick weekend break or staycation?

A trip to Keswick is the ideal way to get away from the stresses of everyday life. Away from the hustle and bustle, Keswick offers the chance to relax, breathe in the fresh country air, and lose yourself in its exquisite natural beauty.

One of the main reasons people flock to the Lake District is to see the stars of the show - the lakes.

Keswick is located between two lakes, Bassenthwaite Lake and Derwentwater. Lake Derwentwater is a ten-minute walk from the town and makes for an epic day out. The lake measures eight miles in total and offers incredible views of the surrounding mountains. You can go for a bracing walk, take a gentle stroll, or even go on a lake cruise where you can hop on and off to take in the surroundings.

Bassenthwaite Lake is slightly further away and sits under the shadow of Skiddaw. It's less populated and busy than Derwentwater, and there are walks along several parts of the shoreline.

The town of Keswick has everything you could want from a small (but lively) market town. It's a quaint town brimming with authentic old shops and ancient pubs. With an excellent selection of boutiques, cafes, tearooms, and restaurants, you can shop till you drop and reward yourself with a traditional cream tea.

It also has some of the best hiking routes in the whole of the Lake District nearby, so it's a haven for keen walkers and hikers. If you're looking for a slightly easier hike than the mighty Scafell Pike (the highest and most prominent mountain in England), Catbells is a popular fell (a prominent hill) which has a height of 451 metres and is only three miles from Keswick.

There are lots of brilliant attractions to keep you busy, including Puzzling Place which is packed with fantastic optical illusions, Fitz Park Playground, the famous Pencil Museum, which demonstrates why Keswick was the world centre of pencil manufacturing, and the elegant Theatre by the Lake. If you're visiting in May, you can watch or take part in the Keswick Mountain Festival, which combines open water swims, triathlons, hill runs, live music, and a festive atmosphere.

More attractions close by include Castlerigg Stone Circle, the Bowder Stone, and Honister Slate Mine, where you can venture down into the mines.

Whether you want to go for a Keswick weekend break and take in the sites and attractions of the town, or use your cottage as a base to explore everything else the Lake District has to offer, our Keswick accommodations have everything you need.
