"This was ideal for a winter break. I came up with my family for Sat and Sun, and then I used some annual leave I had due to come back alone for some walking for another couple of days. Excellent location, big lounge and nice deep bath. We arrived on 1st December and I thank the owners for putting up Christmas decorations, which was exciting for our children. Also, the Cumbrian Boggart in the friendly Twa Dogs Inn over the road is a great story."
"Before arrival we were concerned about previous reviews of uncleanliness, but we had no issues. On arrival the cottage was clean and warm and comfortable. The kitchen is a little dated, but well stocked (although personally I would find a tumble drier more useful than a dishwasher). The cottage is a bit further from the town centre than we would usually choose but this is reflected in the price. My only recommendation is that the owners install WiFi"
"Excellent base for walking holiday a lot of walks straight from the doorstep ,never used our car all week. Only one complaint about accommodation the grill did not work on the cooker apart from that it was an excellent cottage."
"Where do you start with S84586. Well we walked in and wanted to run straight back out. The smell was so unpleasant (we always stay in dog friendly holiday cottages and never experienced a smell like it). The dirt and grime in the entrance followed through into the kitchen, lounge and stairs. The whole cottage has health and safety issues especially for our 11month old grandson. Builders rubble was exposed under the stairs in the kitchen. Our grandson removed the decorative nails around the bath panels with ease. We dread to think of the consequences if he swallowed one. Gas hob temperamental, no tin opener that worked, freezer in desperate need of cleaning and defrosted, fridge inside needs cleaning, stale food around the seals on the dishwasher, previous visitors rubbish left under the settees, coffee table and kitchen table sticky with grime. These are only a few of S84586’s issues. I could go on but I won’t bore you. We will never go back or recommend S84586."
"Very nice place. Publicity said "5 minutes walk" into Keswick town centre - that should be "15 minutes walk" but no problems for us with bus stops right outside. A few minor niggles such as some lights not functioning, a lack of table mats, and no usuable tin opener but nothing to spoil our enjoyment of a nice cottage in a nice town"
"We knew pets were allowed but there were large amount of dog hairs on the stairs and it took 3 days to get rid of dog smell. Coffee table had been varnished and anything placed on it stuck to the table. With the exception of the bathroom the whole cottage is in need of decoration. Outside the front door requires some attention (gardening). Unfortunately we will not be recommending this cottage to anyone. Happy to discuss further if required."
"A party of 4 stayed there we had 1 teaspoon 1 butterknife 1 side plate and 2 cereal bowls COTTAGE needs a good clean my daughter had to buy teaspoons and knives. Sorry but would not be back x"
"We didn't spend much time in the cottage, it didn't smell very nice when we walked in and could have been a lot cleaner. We stay in a lot if dog friendly places and they've all been cleaner, but I think it was value for money and in good location apart from the noisy road!"
"S84586 represented a good value break in easy walking distance of the centre of Keswick. The accommodation was in keeping with the photo's on the website. We have stayed in more updated and attractive properties however for the price, availability and location we were happy with our choice. We got what we expected and arguable what we paid for relative to other options available at that time. You wouldn't choose to spend lots of time in the cottage however in good weather why on earth would you anyway..."
"Good location and a practical cosy cottage. Was a perfect base for walking in the kes wick area."
"Overall the house was good but heating very noisy at night. Had to switch it off. CD player didn't work but was quickly replaced.Bath drained very slowly. Needed a net curtain or blind on main bedroom window for privacy. Step at top of stairs was a trip hazard. Kitchen had a nonstick frying pan but metal frying slice.Overall we enjoyed our stay."
"Had everything we needed for our stay, would definitely stay there again"
"Warm, comfortable great base for walking. Everything you need a short walk away. Leave the car parked up and get the bus and see the sights."
