What our customers say about their holidays

    • Paul - Verified booking

We found the accommodation to be very comfortable and the location is extremely peaceful and it is pleasant to sit out in the evening although no chairs are provided, only a picnic bench.

There are adjoining holiday properties so noise levels could depend on who is staying next door but sound insulation between the properties is excellent. Minor drawbacks are that freezer and general storage space in the kitchen is rather limited (we mainly self cater). Also there is no external washing line or dryer for items which are unsuitable for putting in the washer/dryer such as swimwear and wet suits. We were unable to find instructions for the tv, washing machine, cooker, microwave etc. Also we found some of the crockery and utensils were not clean on this occasion. There is an imbalance in size between the bedrooms so the property is probably best suited to a couple with children, or just three adults. The owners live on site and are friendly and approachable and would I am sure sort out any major issues. We have now stayed three times and would recommend this property so long as you are prepared for a short drive down the country lanes to access it.

    • Mrs Jenny Glauert - Verified booking

This accommodation was warm, comfortable and cosy and while fairly compact (it is a studio apartment as advertised) had everything to hand. It seems crazy to need to mention but we were able to relax instantly at this property because it was a rarity in that everything worked properly. The wifi was good, the TV was tuned in with working DVD player, the cooker was fully functional, the shower pressure was just excellent and very hot and the refrigerator was high quality and very quiet. Pots, pans and dishes were all high quality and clean. The owner did have to come over to fix a leak on Sunday evening, but was happy to do so and very friendly. The area itself is straight out onto beautiful walks with plenty of winter activities also within a 25-35 minute drive and is well situated amongst amenities with several pub/restaurants nearby, but check for opening times as these were not open on our winter break. An excellent base for our holiday. Many thanks to the owners!

I spent a lovely week at Malsters Studio, and it was perfect for my sort of holiday. I was looking for a base from which to explore a stretch of the coastal path, and it was a great place to come back to at the end of long days out. Very cosy and warm with underfloor heating and lovely hot shower, good wifi for planning the next day's walk, and practical design and layout. Parking space on the drive right next to the studio was really convenient. The owners were just next door, and really friendly and helpful, although you definitely still have your privacy. The location was great - it was about an hour's walk into Padstow along the Little Petherick Creek, which forms part of the Saints Way, and you could also easily access the Camel Trail. If you enjoy walking then this is the perfect spot as it offers access not only to the South West coastal path at Padstow, but also the opportunity to explore some of the inland long distance trails as well.

Everything was lovely about this holiday property.

The house was well equipped and tastefully furnished and decorated. The owners even left a selection of books, games, dvds, and puzzles, should you need them. Lots of useful stuff in the kitchen. (And thank you for the welcome pack too.) The oven was different to what we are used to so it would have been good to see the instruction book. But we managed. Two very tiny issues and these were not major, but i think useful going forwards to know. The outside tap is tucked behind the big box and a short hose would be helpful for rinsing dogs, wet suits or beach stuff. And when i booked i saw single beds in the second bedroom and when we arrived the bed was made up as a king size. Again not a big issue for us as we were family. And maybe my fault as i only read this was something we should of asked for when i read the welcome folder. Overall, a great location and we enjoyed our stay at the Waves.

    • Ian - Verified booking

The cottage was lovely and clean, and I would recommend staying there.

The views are fantastic and there is a lot to do locally. Really appreciated there being milk, tea and coffee on arrival. There is good internet access, and the facilities are very good. There is a 24/7 dairy shop in the near be village of Saint Newly East, which was brilliant. 24/7 cake, ice cream, milkshakes, tea and coffee! 15 - 30 mins from great beaches and only a few minutes from the A30. I have a disability and although there was a frame for the toilet, I would recommend there is a toilet seat riser. The shower is a walking in shower and there was a shower stool available, which was great, but a grab rail would be good. Also, a grab rail at the door to the field would be recommended. The doors are nice a wide which is really good for wheelchair users.
