About this property

The Point is an exceptionally, well-presented house, perfectly elevated above Polzeath beach. A short walk away from the beach, shops and cafes, this property is a perfect Cornish haven, sleeping eight guests in four light and airy bedrooms, with off road parking. The south facing, enclosed garden is an exceptional place for the sun bathers amongst you or a great area to play with the family if you can keep your eyes off the views. The stylish kitchen and dining area takes up the whole of the first floor, the floor to ceiling windows framing the perfect panorama, giving a splendid place to chill and relax. A separate annex houses the fourth bedroom with en-suite, kitchenette and the laundry room, the perfect place for a visiting couple. The small town of Polzeath is the essence of a traditional seaside holiday, water sport enthusiasts will love the bracing white waters and children will enjoy exploring the rock pools for crabs and other underwater creatures. The Point at Polzeath is a lovely place for a stroll or look around the fashionable shops in Rock. Catch the ferry over to Padstow for the latest flavours of chefs like Paul Ainsworth and Rick Stein.

The seaside village of Polzeath boasts a sandy beach, which is bordered by rock pools and is acclaimed to be one of the best surfing beaches in the country. Polzeath itself has a number of small shops, cafes and restaurants, and the South West Coast Path, a 630-mile route, runs through the village. Just over seven miles away is the popular market town of Wadebridge, which is set alongside the River Camel and offers an array of shops, pubs and restaurants, as well as North Cornwall's only family-owned cinema. There’s wonderful countryside in the area, with the renowned Camel Trail passing through the town, and the nearby town of Padstow, with its harbour, pastel-washed medieval houses and celebrated restaurants is well worth exploring. Within driving distance is the UK surfing capital of Newquay, with over 11 miles of golden sandy beaches. Polzeath is an excellent base for exploring this part of Cornwall.

My perfect spot was on the sofa in the kitchen/dining room area looking out at the sunsets over the water. The house has clearly been redecorated recently and is better than the pictures! The position was perfect - so close to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants in Polzeath. My only negative comment is that the water didn't drain very well at all from any of the showers in the ensuite bathrooms, and very quickly turned into soggy paddling pools. We loved our stay at The Point and will definitely be back!

The setting and views were spectacular . Kitchen was very well equipped and had everything we needed . The beds were comfortable and linen clean and fresh . It is a perfect distance from the beach and the outside space worked really well. The Annex shower was blocked but was sorted and the hot weather eventually dried it up. Like other guests have mentioned it was frustrating to not find hand soap we have left some in place for the next guests . We have enjoyed our stay Thank you

It was a great location and well laid out house. We loved the upstairs kitchen/diner with fab views on all sides. It was a great outside area, with lovely garden furniture. We appreciated the excellent quality sheets and towels. There are very few negatives, but the listing didn't have quite enough info eg, is there a BBQ , Nespresso machine, parking for how many cars? It was appreciated to find there was a BBQ and coffee machine, but I would have brought charcoal and coffee pods if I had known. I also have never stayed in a house without a single bar of soap, shower gel, or washing up liquid provided! It would have been a nice touch to have some, and a bit more loo roll too! There was no easy way of contacting the company to report any minor faults, for example it was difficult to control the water temperature in the shower (ran too hot) and the kettle trimming was coming off.
