What our customers say about their holidays

Staying at Little Westwards for our Easter break was an absolute treat!

Melanie and Mel are such wonderful hosts and nothing was too much trouble, with Melanie ensuring that every aspect of our stay was perfect. Our family agreed that accommodation at Little Westwards is the best self-catering we have had the pleasure of being able to enjoy, so much so, that we had re-booked for October half term only a couple of days into our stay! In an extremely quiet village and with plenty of outdoor and parking space, you are immediately struck by the location on arrival, which really is the ideal base for exploring and even cycling from. (Thank you for storing my bike in the garage, Melanie!) Everywhere outside is very secure and our Cockapoo, Rosie, loved the freedom of being able to roam. The accommodation itself was immaculately clean and beautifully appointed yet felt so homely and welcoming. The fudge and welcome treats (including a fabulous dog toy!) were a lovely touch, with even a personalised card from Melanie for our arrival. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need to enjoy family meals and plenty of space for a week’s shop. As a family of four, we loved having two bathrooms, with their own hot water tanks for baths and showers – so useful! The beds were extremely comfortable and we loved our week so much we didn’t want to leave. We are very much looking forward to coming back to Little Westwards and planning our next adventure. Thank you so much Melanie and Mel for making us so welcome and for allowing us to enjoy your accommodation.

The property is well located for Sennen Cove, but the name “sea the view” is a bit misleading as it doesn’t really have sea views.

The rooms are very nice quality and design and a lot of thought has gone into it. The photos on the listing showed comfy outdoor furniture but this had been replaced with less lounge furniture (which is obviously easier for them to maintain). So there was nowhere we could all sit and lounge outside (the comfy corner sofa chairs were not there, the swing chairs had been taken down etc). So it wasn’t quite as expected. The bed linen was lovely quality but the pillows were awful - I get this is very personal but I had to go out and buy some as they were that poor and the main bed had a super firm mattress. We had problems with the main patio door not working which meant there was a gap when they were closed and as it is quite an exposed garden the draft and noise of the wind was quite annoying. In addition we had a day of driving rain which lead to a large leak flooding the floor under the picture window. Eating in all the basics crockery was there but for example there was no salad bowl or serving plates, so if you were wanting to do a nice meal in it was a bit basic. The addition of an electric charger was very helpful. It was lovely but overall for the high price I don’t think it quite delivered.

      We had a great stay.

It's a small property, but has everything you need and the owners are really helpful; on hand if you need them, but not if you don't! Many lovely 'extras' provided and quality bedding, sheets etc. The listing called the property an apartment, which was confusing, but we rang to query this as we wanted a cottage not an apartment (which we thought of as wholly contained within another building). It turned out it is really a separate,self-contained, semi-detached part of the owners' home. Unless I had queried this, we probably would not have booked the property, which would have been a shame. The comfort score is only a '4' because the beds were rather too firm for me (issues with my back). If you like a firm mattress, this is no problem at all. One other comment; there was milk, tea and coffee when we arrived and a lovely bottle of wine, but a small loaf and some butter would have helped as we had to pop out for that as soon as we arrived. (This has been pretty common in other cottages we have stayed in). However, we were sent a list of what would be in the welcome pack, so we should have realised!

Beautiful home, we felt bad when we left as we wanted to leave a few comments in the guest book but no one had a pen!

Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!! We actually stayed in one of these last year (sea scape) and as we love it in sennen so much we wanted to come back. Sea the View didn’t disappoint, the bedrooms are beautiful and the bathroom and showers fantastic. The views are amazing too. Downstairs is lovely and the kitchen has everything you need. Couple of ideas for the new owners, it would be great to have a little bistro set to sit at outside, the big day bed and table isn’t great for anything other than lazing back! Which we did lots of course! And maybe pop a little cafetière in the cupboard - we’ve always had one in all the places we’ve stayed (even when there is a coffee machine) so it was unusual not to have one. The garden could do with a tidy up - I’m not a huge gardener but little things like pulling out the dead leaves really make it so pretty when you’re sat outside. These are just little things tho, we had a wonderful time and will DEFINITELY be back!! Thank you!!!

We stayed at kemyel Mill House from 13th-20th September 2024 Beautiful country side building which could be stunning. Let down by the cleanliness and neglect (cleaner came in after complaining but we unfortunately we found more after she had left). Mold around bath, dust, dirt and cobwebbs everywhere, dirty freezer, smelly fridge, dirty and stained floors etc. Could do with new sofa's. The beds are lovely and comfortable although slats are not fixed on single beds. Garden table unusable as needs a lot of tlc and has plants growing out of it. The "stunning 360 summerhouse" as advertised is dangerous and also unusable as wood is rotting and is covered in green mildew and does not turn. We complained twice during our stay regarding the garden furniture but had NO response at all regarding this. It is such a shame because this is really a beautiful but neglected property.
