What our customers say about their holidays

    • Richard - Verified booking

We chose this location as it was perfect to visit the various parts of Cornwall we wanted to see -Tintagel, Port Isaac, Looe, Polperro, Mousehole, Porthcurno Beach, Kynance Cove and The Lizard.

We visited more locations thanks to the info that the owners Jill, Trudy and Richard gave us. We were absolutely delighted with their welcome. The lodge is superb and has a full range of appliances that you would want - dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, TV with DVD player, Wi-Fi and more. It is very clean indeed and has all the materials you would need - just as if you were at home. Lots of towels and, even lots of coat hangers for your clothing The peaceful surroundings were very special to us as we come from the very busy south-east. The location is not far outside Bodmin and the local village of Lanivet has some stores and a pub that we dined in. The lodge was so much bigger than we expected and it was so comfortable. It has double glazing and the walls too have insulation, keeping a comfortable temperature which we found very welcome on returning on a chilly night after a long day out. To summarise, if you are wanting a large, very comfortable, fully-equiped lodge in quiet and beautiful surroundings, with car parking outside, with easy reach of the many great sites of Cornwall, DON'T HESITATE - BOOK THIS!!

We stayed at this property and would not recommend.

It is very damp downstairs in the bedrooms. We had very cold at times wet beds from damp. The property owner tries hard with the damp but the smell hits you as soon as you walk in. Beds have very soft mattresses. Shower is dangerous as it falls of the holder, shower tray doesn’t drain and when you stop the shower and turn it back on it scalds you! Well stocked kitchen and plenty of sofas, two fridges but they are small with a small freezer box, one was stuck. Largest coffee table I have ever seen. Games in the cupboard if needed, wifi and TV. TV in bedroom did not work. You only have 1 key so difficult if someone is staying in and someone going out, you have to lock the door with a key. Cleaners left food debris, napkins and deflated balloons under the sofa. Not great for mobility as listed and the site itself is not great. Pools are small and the shop is tiny with limited choice, pool tables were old and worn. I would not return purely due to the damp in the lodge, it was awful and ruined our holiday.

This property was absolutely amazing inside and out - the pictures provided do not do it justice.

One of the cleanest cottages I have booked! Michelle was lovely and met us on arrival, she was very helpful and gave us almost all the information we required for our stay. Only downside of the entire stay, was the fact that we were unable to have access to warm water in the night. This was only brought to our attention when we got in late one day and got into the showers, only to find that the water was ice cold - when ringing Michelle to ask for help, she informed us that the boiler switches off after a certain point - something which we not made aware off on arrival and definitely something that everyone should be aware off!! If were made aware of this fact, we would definitely have still gotten ahead with the booking, but planned ahead to ensure we can shower before bed with warm water! - Apart from this small hiccup, I really couldn't fault our stay. Definitely recommend, but also advise that the boiler situation be made clear on arrival so guests can plan around it!

      What can I say!

!! These lodges are wonderful. We spent 2 weeks in Birch and we were extremely comfortable. The furniture, beds, bedding and linens are all of quality and everything was spotlessly clean. The appliances in the kitchen are excellent and easy to work, and the dressing of the lodge with matching items in the bathrooms, pretty glass vases and faux plants dotted around made it feel homely and bright. Everything was so well organised throughout it was an absolute pleasure to stay here. So peaceful and quiet with lovely country surroundings yet very central to lots of places to visit and the people who manage and look after these lodges are also extremely helpful and are very pleasant! I would recommend a visit to Killiow Lodges all day long!

      Where can I start.

From the welcome. To the clean spotless Lodge. To the 2 bathrooms.(One with bath/one with shower). To having a dishwasher a washing machine and a dryer. To the georgeous double soft bed.(Which was more comfy than ours at home). To a nice big wide parking space,if your concerned about those annoying dents from no-where.Outside garden games for younger kids.Masses of room in the living room.Nice big table to eat from.Even a maiden for your special clothes that cant go in a dryer. To the price. The list could go on and on...I am OCD and this covered everything even I could think of.Only 6 Lodges here, lovely, nice, quiet, about 1 mile away from the chines/Indian takeaways and chippy and Asda/ aldi and Bodmin shops/etc. I would book again Loved it.
