What our customers say about their holidays

    • Pauline - Verified booking

This property is beautifully presented and well equipped.

My husband is 2 metres tall and heavy too. Therefore, the double bed was tricky as it has a footboard and didnt feel very sturdy ... possibly some more slats under the mattress needed for feeling comfortable and secure. There is a problem with damp in the bungaow which was notoceable as soon as we entered ... a damp smell which we managed by opening doors and windows for a while. It was also clear from the fact that after only a few hours the hand towel in the loo was actually wet and stayed that way even after we went out for the day. In addition the furthest bedroom is v damp and therefore colder so we had to use the heater all night to male it ok to sleep in. The rest of the house was warm enough without heaters. Maybe whole house needs more ventilation esp in that corner and preferably external insulation. DVD selection was excellent and we all enjoyed the place. The floors made it easy to clean etc. It might be nice to leave some basics like salt and pepper and cooking oil esp as we were only there a couple of nights we didnt have those things with us. Great that washing up liquid and sponges were left. We werent sure if the tablets left were for a dishwasher (there was no dishwasher) or for the washing machine which we didnt need anyway. Swimming pool is nice but a bit clunky in the way it has to be booked in advance online. Local walks are lovely but so frustrating that there is no pedestrian access out of the Holiday park ... this males it quite dangerous for people walking. Something that could be taken up with local council and tourist board. Generally a lovely place except for the damp feeling. Thank you.

      A very tired holiday camp.

The centre of the camp is derelict just a mass of foundations. No mention was made of the horrendous bone jarring speed bumps, there are 7 to cross to get to the property. There was only a club house dilapidated and no atmosphere. One drink there was enough for us. The entrance to the property is almost blocked by bushes. On entering there was the immediate smell of damp. This is not mentioned anywhere and as an Asthmatic not welcome when looking at the ceilings it is obvious where the damp Mark's have been attempted to be cleaned. The welcome book is the worst I have ever seen. We could not operate the oven and eventually found instructions in a cupboard. The no stick pans need throwing they can not be used as the not stick is peeling and would be in your food. This is a health and safety matter. There was no mention of lots of required items being hidden under the beds. The window next to the microwave is broken. I had to scramble through the bushes to push the window closed whilst my wife secured it from the inside. I do not understand why you expect guests to be your quality assurance? It is also a managed property so you do not get the touchy feely of the owners making this special for you. This is also not highlighted. I all a tired run down site and a tired run down property. I doubt you will publish this on you website as it is to close to the truth. A very disappointing holiday completely misrepresented by yourselves.

First impressions on arriving was amazing and very happy we chose this lodge.

Over the week we settled in and found all the facilities accommodating and enjoyable so well done. To be picky a couple of things were disappointing The toilet floor was noisy and got to be annoying and bad smells from time to time from drains.the sink had greasy marks. No table in the lounge to play cards etc as the stools didn't sit flat on the floor as they were sat across the carpet.had to sit at each end of breakfast bar.1 foot rest has been bent down and could lead to breaking off. The sofa was worn out and uncomfortable The TV room was a great idea but the led around the walls didn't work and the sound bar didn't play through the TV only through Bluetooth which was pointless Outside decking needed an outside brush to clear away all the branches from the seating area, instead we had to use the inside soft brush.why was this not cleared before arriving and outside glass cleaned and not left green. The bath was left with grease marks as not cleaned. You may need to lubricate the front door as getting very stiff on mechanism. Overall we had a good stay and a great holiday

A great location for accessing Padstow, Wadebridge and an hour from St Ives.

Please note if you are a family, that currently there is no restaurant or indoor leisure facilities at Atlantic Bay, as the former building is due to be redeveloped, albeit no activity has started. There was a small temporary marquee set up for people to use. The chalet is clean, and very simply furnished, throws hiding tired and faded furniture; so would benefit from a refresh which could be done quite cheaply. A few cushions on the sofa for comfort, replace the broken tv unit, and some outside seating would be a welcome addition. It’s one of only a few chalets that has a really pretty garden and we were able to park in the space directly behind the chalet which was great. The decking is starting to rot in places and the handle on the main door is loose and key is rusty, so get a new key cut. The pictures show a tv in the double bedroom, but there isn’t one. This is our 4th time booking through Sykes and each time we have arrived to find some tea, coffee and milk at least, but nothing this time, Not our best experience, sadly.

September 2024 The weather was lovely and sunny all week.

It was lovely to go in the summer as normally we come in November. The only downside we found was there was no coffee table as shown in booking so nowhere to place drinks only on the floor if sitting on the sofa - and breakfast bar stools was again different to brochure - not adjustable or very comfortable to sit on whilst eating or playing board games / cards of an evening after dark. We went and brought a folding table to use for this purpose and use the poofies to sit on as was more comfortable. We do appreciate that things need to be replaced as and when. It maybe an idea at some point to add a small lamp for lounge in the evening as only ceiling lights as such. Having said all that we did have a lovely stay and otherwise accommodation was just as it states perfect. Thanks for a lovely break away.
