Trevowhan house is a gem of a holiday cottage.
Beautifully and sympathetically styled, warm, cosy and with everything you could need for an enjoyable stay. If only we could have booked some dry weather, too! This was our second stay here, but this time the weather wasnât kind to us. However, if the weather dictates that your holiday will largely be indoors, this is the perfect place. Plenty of wood is provided for the log burners if you should need extra heat or even if you just want to provide a lovely ambiance in either of the reception rooms. There is a huge selection of books, covering every genre (including childrenâs books) and a decent sized TV. There is also a digital radio. The master bedroom is extremely spacious, beds are comfortable, with good quality bedding and there are throws all over the cottage if you should need extra warmth. The views from the bedrooms, on a clear day, are absolutely lovely. The owners, Tamsin & Matt, have kitted the cottage out very thoughtfully and have ensured that you have everything you need. Iâm a little concerned about writing a review saying how much we love Trevowhan House, as we will definitely want to return and donât want all the dates to be booked up (!) but it is definitely a cottage we will return to again and again.

The property is well located for Sennen Cove, but the name âsea the viewâ is a bit misleading as it doesnât really have sea views.
The rooms are very nice quality and design and a lot of thought has gone into it. The photos on the listing showed comfy outdoor furniture but this had been replaced with less lounge furniture (which is obviously easier for them to maintain). So there was nowhere we could all sit and lounge outside (the comfy corner sofa chairs were not there, the swing chairs had been taken down etc). So it wasnât quite as expected. The bed linen was lovely quality but the pillows were awful - I get this is very personal but I had to go out and buy some as they were that poor and the main bed had a super firm mattress. We had problems with the main patio door not working which meant there was a gap when they were closed and as it is quite an exposed garden the draft and noise of the wind was quite annoying. In addition we had a day of driving rain which lead to a large leak flooding the floor under the picture window. Eating in all the basics crockery was there but for example there was no salad bowl or serving plates, so if you were wanting to do a nice meal in it was a bit basic. The addition of an electric charger was very helpful. It was lovely but overall for the high price I donât think it quite delivered.

The perfect holiday property!
Everything was perfect, and we could not find a fault with anything. The location is stunning, and also very quiet. It is the perfect place to de-stress and unwind. I came away feeling very relaxed and that I had slept well too. The bed is sooo comfortable! It was hard sometimes to pull myself out of it in the morning. The house was spotlessly clean everywhere. We travel a lot, and have to say this is the cleanest house that we have ever rented. The bed linen and towels were good quality, as was the mattress and pillows, and also exceptionally clean.. The house is beautiful as is the scenery from the windows. Pulling apart the curtains in the morning to a scene of surrounding glistening turquoise coloured sea is amazing. The moorland is also beautiful, and so interesting too. The whole area is. The décor in the house was also good quality and also the art work very impressive. We loved the SMEG oven in the kitchen too! The Owner was very friendly, polite, easy going and helpful. She also responded very quickly to any query. We highly recommend this beautiful house to stay in, and will most certainly be booking it again in the future!

A really nice cottage, although there was a strong damp musty smell on arrival.
The kitchen was really well equipped. We had problems with the oven (it didnât work) but the owners came out immediately to see if they could rectify the problem. They even offered to buy us fish and chips because we couldnât cook our meal, which was a lovely gesture. The cottage is furnished in a rustic style but thereâs a fine line between rustic and basic. Parking is a problem, we managed to squeeze 2 cars onto the drive but our third car had to be parked away from the property. The biggest disappointment was the beds. The bunk room is tiny, and I mean tiny, I feel the advertising for the cottage should state that itâs not really suitable for 6 adults. The reason I have given a low score for comfort is due to the double beds. We have never slept on such uncomfortable mattresses before. Hard, lumpy and old. To be totally honest, itâs just a little insulting to be expected to sleep in these beds as paying guests. Because of this We wouldnât recommend the property to others and we certainly wouldnât return. However put in decent mattresses and weâll be happy to do so.

Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!! We actually stayed in one of these last year (sea scape) and as we love it in sennen so much we wanted to come back. Sea the View didnât disappoint, the bedrooms are beautiful and the bathroom and showers fantastic. The views are amazing too. Downstairs is lovely and the kitchen has everything you need. Couple of ideas for the new owners, it would be great to have a little bistro set to sit at outside, the big day bed and table isnât great for anything other than lazing back! Which we did lots of course! And maybe pop a little cafetière in the cupboard - weâve always had one in all the places weâve stayed (even when there is a coffee machine) so it was unusual not to have one. The garden could do with a tidy up - Iâm not a huge gardener but little things like pulling out the dead leaves really make it so pretty when youâre sat outside. These are just little things tho, we had a wonderful time and will DEFINITELY be back!! Thank you!!!
