What our customers are saying about our Beach Cottages In South Hams District To Rent.

"The old forge was a gem of a holiday cottage, tucked away down a very quiet lane and yet a 5 minute walk to the beach and the Coastal Path. The owners were the perfect hosts, making sure that we had everything we needed, they even had the fire light for our arrival and a bottle of wine waiting - perfect. We were able to sit outside the cottage for breakfast, watching the birds, and at night time we were able to sit out under the stars, in an area of very little light pollution, even got to see a shooting star. We were able to take our dog, who was also spoilt - so much so she went missing a couple of times only to be found in the owners house next door. We were able to walk to the local beach ( although it is a pebble beach, not too many people there and those that had tended to have paddle boards and boats) and from there a lovely walk to the local lighthouse, or the otherway to Beesands with pub and cafe . We were only there for a long weekend but felt so relaxed and chilled afterwards. Thanks for a relaxing getaway from it all,"

"Some concerns about the drop from the car parking space to the property below. This was covered by ivy that gave way when leaned upon. I would recommend that this is fenced off or secured in some way as it was a small gap of about 50 cm - but easy to miss and fall through. Also the instructions about recycling could be clearer - e.g. we found recycling sacks in the 'play room' but were unsure from the instructions what we were supposed to do with them (e.g. take them to the recycling centre ourselves or was this something the owners were dealing with?). Also instructions told of the 'black bin' out the front - this was where the rubbish was to be put out on the last morning. I looked round for a black wheely bin but guessed that they instructions were referring to the silver bin with the black lid??"

"The property is comfortable and tastefully furnished, ample storage for two people. Electric storage heaters provide comfort, with the option of the wood burning stove if extra desired. The location is ideal for starting short or long countryside or costal walks in this beautiful area. Approach to The Old Forge is through several miles of narrow, mostly single track, roads with passing places. All the drivers we encountered were very polite, following conventions to let us through, or acknowledging thanks when we let them through. However, we would not recommend arriving for the first time in total darkness, but once you are familiar with those roads there should be no problem."

"The owner was fantastic. He messaged me prior to arrival to explain how To get to the cottage. He also went out and sorted some fresh flowers and wine and beer for a suprise for my girlfriend. Upon arrival, he showed us round and said if we need anything at all to just knock on his door. He supplied fresh bread, milk, eggs, butter to name a few. He provided us with a bbq and coal throughout our stay. I would definatly recommend this holiday cottage to anyone."

"we walked into a building site, they were trying to finish off the new wing before the grand re launch. This re-launch happened the day after we arrived. Loud live music went on until midnight, next door to us decided to talk outside until 2 am after coming back from the party. My children could not sleep until after the music had stopped. Wanted to leave the next day as I was so angry that the management staff there had no consideration for current residents. ..."
