The town hosts many annual events, including the Dart Music Festival, the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, and the Dartmouth Food Festival, all of which take advantage of the town's beautiful waterfront and ancient, winding streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants, and art galleries. The South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail, and many quiet country lanes make the area around Dartmouth ideal for bicycling and walking. The Dartmouth Steam Railway ride through the countryside to Paignton is a must, as is the boat ride across to Kingswear and on to the charming harbour town of Brixham.
