About this property

A beautiful, 19th Century terraced cottage, enjoying stunning views of the main anchorage towards Snapes Point and South Pool Creek beyond.

Boasting a bright and comfortable interior, the property also has an outside decked terrace from which you can relax and take in the views. Situated in the heart of Salcombe town, with immediate access to the quayside, boutique shops, and restaurants, it’s perfect for those who want a cosy retreat in the hub of the town.

On the ground floor is the living room, which is a light and comfortably furnished room, with feature stone fireplace and TV/DVD unit. French doors lead to a modern terrace surrounded by glass balustrades, perfect for admiring the view, with outdoor furniture and a barbecue for al fresco dining. The combined kitchen/dining area is well equipped (including gas hob, electric cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher), with a dining table seating four. The property has two bedrooms, both of which are on the lower ground floor. The master bedroom is a double en suite, whilst the second bedroom has twin beds and an en suite shower room. All bedding, linen and towels provided.

Guests enjoy free Wireless broadband, and one parking pass for the nearby Creek Car Park. With its central location, and nearby coast and countryside it is ideal for families or perhaps two couples to explore this beautiful area.

Salcombe is a popular destination for watersports enthusiasts, walkers and families looking for a holiday by the sea. There are several pretty beaches within a short distance, including North Sands and South Sands, plus the coves East Portlemouth on the opposite side of the estuary, just a short passenger ferry ride away. Also on your doorstep is the National Trust property Overbeck’s where you can wander through the subtropical gardens. Why not have a more adventurous day and try out the watersports available on the estuary including surfing, coasteering, kayaking or a more leisurely boat trip? Whilst staying in Salcombe, take advantage of the locally sourced seafood which is served in many of the restaurants, pubs, cafés and delicatessens. The southern tip of Devon provides some spectacular scenery and picturesque vistas with a number of sandy beaches, lovely villages with thatched cottages and some fantastic opportunities for walking on the South West Coast path.

The only downside was the shower which was small and for a larger person would prove a challenge to fit into. Car parking was also an issue as the main car park in the town was very busy and we struggled to find a space. Once we had parked we could not go out for the day in the car for fear of losing our space.

It is a lovely property with everything we needed. Standard of accommodation and bedding/crockery etc was perfect. felt like a home from home. as it was off the main drag, it was very quiet (but we were out of season), had a good nights sleep, lovely space inside and out and a parking permit for a nearby carpark. would definitely stay again...

Good points were the main bedroom and bathroom and kitchen and sitting room. The second bedroom was not “more suitable for children” leaving the impression that adults could use it with a little discomfort…..it should be flagged as not at all suitable for adults and it should be mentioned that the en-suite is very cramped and an adult cannot even stand up in it properly. The throw on the sofa was grubby and needed a wash l. The whole place was in need of redecoration. The plaster at the top of the stairs still has not been put right. The kitchen window woodwork was dirty and needed a paint. The patio was not private as advertised and the mat was very dirty and the patio needed a good clean. The rest of the outside could do with some attention. The front door was not welcoming, it was dirty and should have had the bird mess cleaned off. All in all we found the property quite tacky and not what we expected from your company.
