What our customers say about their holidays

    • Jill - Verified booking

The cottage is in a great position on the High Street in such a lovely village with very friendly people and amazing countryside.

The cottage is generally good but there were a few issues. On cleanliness I was disappointed to find that the grill pan hadn't been cleaned properly and there were crumbs under the toaster. On facilities there were 3 overhead lights where bulbs had either gone or were absent, including in the front porch which is essential if coming back to the cottage late. We bought 3 light bulbs. Generally the lighting seemed dim in all rooms and not easy to read by (no lamp on right hand side of bed in back room). Also there only seemed to be one sharp knife in the kitchen. The bungalow at the back has a very bright security light which came on several times each night and woke us up. The back bedroom needs thicker curtains to counteract that. The website pictures show a sitting area screened by a holly hedge but actually this is where the wheelie bins are kept so a bit misleading. You can still sit nearer the back door if you don't mind being open to the driveways of adjacent cottages and people passing on the footpath. We did find the sitting room a bit soulless and a rug would have made it seem more comfortable. Personally I found the settee and chairs too low and uncomfortable so spent the week sitting on either a dining chair (by the way, one of these is broken and nearly collapsed on me) or one of the garden chairs. My partner was fine.

      This accommodation was outstanding.

The host sent an email before we arrived - which was extremely helpful, especially the details of where to park came in handy. It cost approximately £13 for a week (Severn Street car park) with a short walk over the bridge each day. We loved the facilities, care and attention had been given to make this home exceptionally comfortable. Additionally, the host had left us a basket of goodies and a pint of milk in the fridge. We had everything we needed to make meals, wash clothes, relax and the heat was a welcome feature as the evening’s were a little chilly. Having smart TV’s in the lounge and bedrooms was great too - if you wanted to retire early. We did not use the garden facilities as it rained all week, but we could see there was provision to be able to relax if the weather was nice. Thank you to the hosts for such a lovely place to stay, in such a beautiful part of the UK. There are ample places to go and explore including Powis Castle, Long Mynd at Church Stretton, Ludlow and many National Trust places in and not far from Bridgnorth - which is also a lovely town too. We would definitely stay here again, if visiting the area.

A beautiful, well designed and furnished property.

A lovely home from home to relax in which was comfortable and warm, perfect in this November weather! The kitchen had everything you could possibly need so we were able to cook with no issues. Showers were great, had good pressure and were walk in showers with plenty of space (there are no baths but this wasn't an issue for us). Beds were beautifully made up, bedding was soft and beds comfy (we took our own pillows after seeing a review that said pillows are thin and we recommend doing the same). We took our husky, there was plenty of space for her in the property and the secured garden was great, and there are lots of great walks locally and also ones you can drive to (we loved Attingham Park). Internet and tv were good enough for what we needed. There is ample off road parking outside the property and it was easy to find using what 3 words. Will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend.

      What a wonderful cottage!

Absolutely immaculate. The host was so helpful and sent us an email with all of the information we needed for our stay including details of car parking options. We arrived to a lovely welcome hamper and a card with details of things we may need during our stay including recomended places to eat. The property itself is very well equipped and had all the mod cons for a very comfortable weeks stay. The stairs are quite steep in the house but we managed them and our five year old soon got the hang of them. The views from the bedrooms overlooking the river severn are fantastic. The beds were very comfortable and the whole house had a lovely homely feel. It really felt like we were arriving home after a day out exploring. Our daughter loved it so much she cried on our last morning as she didn't want to leave. Thanks for a great stay

We had an excellent 3 week holiday at 5 Riverside.

The owners Heather and Damian were fantastic with lots of thoughtful touches around the house to give us a lovely stay. They were quick to reply to any questions we had and even came round with extra pots and pans for us. The house is in a very convenient location, 10 min walk to shops, restaurants and town centre, great views on the river and nice walks nearby. Our car (Volkswagen polo) didn’t fit on the parking spot outside the house but we were able to park in the nearby pay and display car park which was 24 pound for the week and it was handy to have the pull up spot to drop things off. The outdoor garden is also a great space with table and chairs. As advertised the stairs in the house are steep but very manageable. Can’t recommend this place enough. Thanks. Susie
