What our customers say about their holidays

    • Jennie - Verified booking

2 couples , 2 dogs and we really enjoyed our peaceful post xmas and new year break.

Easy check in with great comms. Felt at home as soon as we walked through the front door. Lovely cozy converted barn with a log burner gave it a nice cottage feel but spacious at the same time. Didn't feel like we were under each others feet, Each bedroom had a nice modern en suite bathroom. Beds comfy with extra pillows if needed. Kitted out well with everything you'd need for a weeks holiday. Decorated to very high standard. Kitchen could do with more food storage and a decent sharp cutting/cooking knife. Hot tub was huge. We've used many hot tubs in holiday homes and this is by far the best - very impressive .Nice and private with fantastic views. Only gripe is there could be more lighting walking to the hot tub in the dark , and the decking can get very slippy when wet. Dogs loved the outdoor space but felt our dog being a smaller dog could of got out so we had to watch him all the time. Not a complaint but it isn't secure for a small dog , maybe some chicken wire at the bottom of the front and back gate would help. It did make us a bit on edge with it being onto the road and obviously fields. Beautiful walks on your door step. Gryn Moelfre mountain literally at the rear the property, great leg burn (my other half made it look so easy) Trig at the top to add to our list . the views were amazing and well worth the climb. Nearest pub is 1.9 miles away - The Wynnstay Inn. Took about 40 minutes to walk down a quite country lane. Lovely warm welcome from staff & locals . Didn't eat there so cant comment. Pictures really don't do this place justice as its a lot nicer in the flesh. Considering re booking for the summer so can take advantage of the lovely out door space. Thank you for welcoming us at your beautiful barn " Plas Moelfre Hall Barns" a great start to 2024.

Our party included 3 couples and 1 big pup.

We stayed at Plas Moelfre Hall Barn to bring in the new year and it was a perfect relaxing getaway. Had all the things you could possibly need and so well equipped. The barn retained heat very well which was important to us as we visited during mid winter. The scenery around the property is amazing, we even managed to see the end of the northern lights as the owners were kind enough to message us and let us know they were visible outside. We saw some reviews saying the garden wasn’t secure for doggo’s however we had no issues with our big doggo escaping and the walk trail behind the property was perfect for him. Although the property is in a very remote location and in extreme weather it can be difficult getting to supermarkets due to the narrow roads, home delivery shopping through Just Eat was still available so this wasn’t an issue at all. Shower pressure was great and the beds were very comfy. The only thing I would suggest is the TV is a little high whereas the sofas are very low, however this was barely an issues because the property had so many other facilities which kept us busy! Overall we had a fantastic stay and we didn’t want to leave. Thank you to Lowri and Gwyn for letting us stay in your beautiful home. We would definitely recommend this property for anyone wanting a quiet lavish getaway!

It was a lovely property, very comfortable and inviting.

The facilities were great and had everything we could have needed, didn’t end up using half of the utility things we brought like cloths and cleaning sprays. The oven could have done with a clean as whoever used it last had some overspill that was baked to the bottom and burnt when we used it causing a lot of smoke, had to cook with the extractor on full and doors and windows open. Also the oven didn’t cook things fast and could do with a new one. The extra game facilities were very fun and well equipped, we would have liked some outdoor lighting as we visited during the winter months and getting to the other buildings we had to use torches to avoid tripping on the cobbles and manoeuvering cars in that dark was extremely difficult. Our main concern with this property would be the roads on approach as they were single lane and not in great condition, we took to going very slowly as some of the bumps and pot holes were causing our cars to bottom out if we were not careful and on the way back we did have a car die and are not sure if the brutal roads contributed to that however there issues were not the fault of the house just a little warning to others. In summary though we had a wonderful time and would consider visiting again.

We have just returned from a brilliant family holiday at Turnip House.

The cottage itself was lovely and spacious, but also very cosy and comfortable; we loved the combination of the traditional features together with all mod cons. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and the homemade cakes and fresh flowers were a lovely touch. It was an ideal base for a family holiday, as the children had so much do on the farm itself; they were very excited to feed the pigs and collect eggs from the chickens; they played on the go carts and sandpit and loved all the space to run around. There's loads of land to explore, including a lovely 2 mile circular walk with waterside picnic area and lovely views. The owner Sara was really helpful in suggesting local things to do and on hand to deal with any requests. We had a couple of sessions at the swimming pool, which was stunning, and Sara even organised a local therapist to do hot stone massages for my husband and I in the spa area which was out of this world! We really couldn't fault the place and would love to go back again. Thanks Sara for making our stay so lovely

We would definitely recommend staying here.

It’s nicely furnished, cosy, and spacious; our party included four adults, two dogs and a toddler but we didn’t feel cramped. The garden is large and ideal for dogs/kids to run around in, and has several different seating areas to appreciate the extensive stunning views. There were lovely Welsh cakes and eggs provided on arrival, and brew kit, as well as thoughtful features like dog bowls/treats, and double towels for showering and hot tub use. We arrived with some basics for tea and planned to do a bigger shop the following day; that worked well as it’s a bit of a drive to the nearest shop- not a complaint, as the peace and tranquility of the local area was just what we wanted. There are lots of outdoor activities within a 30 min drive; our favourites were Lake Vyrnwy and the National Ironworks Centre / Sculpture trail. We have already recommended the barns to our friends and we’d love to come back and explore the area at different times of the year ourselves. Thanks so much for a perfect stay.
