What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mark - Verified booking

      The overall stay was excellent.

The flat is full of character and decorated with care. The views were second to none and the location in Ironbridge itself was truly special. There was a few things which could make slight improvements. - it said on the listing there was a washing machine but there wasn't. We did plan on washing some of our young son's clothes, it's not a massive issue but it's to bear in mind. - a welcome basket would have been a nice touch. We arrived quite late, meaning we couldn't grab any bits for the morning. Some coffee, tea bags and milk satchets would have been nice. This isn't a deal breaker by any stretch and didn't spoil the stay. - some of the cupboards felt a little 'lived in.' the cleaning cupboard under the sink was what you would expect to find at home, Christmas tree in the storage space and spare bulbs etc. again, it's fine but a little attention to detail would really elevate this already brilliant property. - parking was a little tricky at times as the road leading up to the property and parking area was tight. If you have a bigger car (which we do, unfortunately) it can be a bit touch and go with the walls! - having said all that, we loved staying here, the location was great and perfect for our needs. The flat was lovely, well presented, comfortable and spacious. We'd happily stay here again.

Lovely hosts with a wealth of information on the local area and a really nice property with a great deal in its favour, however, the lack of attention to detail stopped it from achieving a 5 star rating, e.

      G. no non slip bath mat for a bath/shower combination, two broken chairs, mould around the shower partition, if you cannot perch on high bar stool chairs at the breakfast bar a small occasional table has to used for meals, the sitting out area is overgrown with weeds with no chairs which would need to be taken down a flight of stairs from the house to be used. Fully accept the house is located within a business area, however, loading/unloading of vehicles starts around 7am in the car park area which is overlooked by the bedroom window and farm machinery working in adjacent field until 12.30 am was not conducive to a good nights sleep. The property promotes the fact that a farm shop is on the premises which is obviously a draw for prospective customers so a small discount within the shop when used by the ‘guests’ would be a nice gesture. Each small issue above would not deter a return visit, but taken together, they did take the lustre off which would otherwise have been a 5 star rating

We are a couple and stayed in The Barn in April 2018.

The directions were clear and the location was peaceful and tucked away. The Barn is up a set of stairs and opens up into an open plan living room and kitchen, a home away from home. Comfy sofas, tv and DVD player and a small woodburner are in the living room and the kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed, including strong wifi. The double bedroom had a beautiful view overlooking the fields and plenty of storage, The bathroom is small but works well with an over the bath shower. The whole property is filled with natural daylight. The Barn is about a 10-15 min drive from Whitchurch and we found the location easy to use as a base to visit nearby villages and larger towns. Overall we had a wonderful 5 days, we felt like we lived there rather than on holiday and would recommend The Barn to anyone wanting a low maintenance self catering holiday.

We had a wonderful relaxing stay at the barn.

The barn itself is beautiful, large and equipped with everything you'd need for a few days away. It is spotless throughout and Rob & Fiona are the loveliest hosts. We booked this for no other reason than to treat ourselves to a short relaxing break and immediately found ourselves unwinding. This beautiful place, in this beautiful setting (and not forgetting the farm shop too!) already had us pledging we'd return. If you're thinking of booking here... do! You won't regret it! Thankyou for having us!

Could have done with a mirror near a socket for drying/styling hair.

The small ironing board was a waste of time; bench had to be cleared to allow for ironing board. 8 coat hangers is not sufficient if staying a week. A washing machine would be more preferable than the dishwasher. The parking was a nightmare, yes the church is only 20 yards from the property, however that 20 yards is up a fairly steep incline when loading and unloading that’s providing you to get to park by the church which we only managed once in the week we were there.
