We stayed at Riverside, Stokesay, in the last week of April 2023.
The one-bedroom apartment is upstairs in the Old Vicarage; the stairs are narrow and quite steep with a return so would be difficult for anyone with poor mobility. That said, this is one of the nicest rentals we have stayed in. The owners are friendly and greeted us in person. The apartment features large rooms and high ceilings throughout, with large Georgian windows overlooking the owners' large garden. These are single-glazed except in the bedroom (secondary glazing). The property is on the A49 but we were not disturbed by traffic noise at night. The central heating works well and kept the place warm and cosy. There is a large shower room and separate WC. The bedroom features a 6'x8' bed with two large built-in wardrobes, so plenty of storage. The kitchenette, open plan with the lounge, is basic, featuring a mini-oven with hob and a microwave but we rustled up basic meals ok. Some visitors will no doubt prefer to eat out anyway. The views are lovely and the garden is alive with wildlife: birds on the nut feeders, pheasants and wild rabbits. There is a seating area for guests too. The wifi worked well except when the resident squirrels chewed through the phone line! This was fixed courtesy of BT. The property is next door to picturesque Stokesay Castle (EH), and there are walks from the property via the Discovery Centre in Craven Arms. Ludlow is nearby, Bishops Castle and Church Stretton/The Long Mynd/Cardingmill Valley (NT) are a short drive away. The property sits nicely in the south Shropshire hills AONB, and gives access to places in north Herefordshire too, such as Croft Castle (NT), worth a visit. We drive an EV and found a chargepoint in nearby Craven Arms, in the petrol station at Tuffin's supermarket. This has four plugs which seem to be little used so a charge is easy to obtain.

Little Bicton Cottage was exceptional, the cottage was a great place to relax with its peaceful surroundings but within walking distance (1.
5miles) to the village of Clun with is shops and two pubs petrol station and also a starting point for many varied walks. The cottage stands by its own which gives the brilliant peace and quiet of the countryside, we had neighbours in the adjoining field 2 horses a 8 week old foal and three sheep. The large hot tub/jacuzzi was the icing on the cake which we used every night after doing our long walks during the day. The rooms in the cottage were large clean and warm and the large wood burning fire in the living room with its comfortable reclining sofa's was also a bonus . Outside the large lawned gardens which were enclosed gave peace of mind as we took our young boxer dog Charlie with us Ludlow is a town about 1/2 hour drive which I would recommend to visit (market day Thursday's), here you have a town which is dog friendly and also a good base to do some lovely walks from,(park at the river near the castle for 4 hours free parking).

Just spent a wonderful week in this lovely cottage.
Superb rural, peaceful location. Very well equipped, clean, cozy cottage. Outdoor seating very comfortable and as the weather was nice I spent alot of time outside enjoying the view. Big garden ideal for the dogs to chase each other. Relaxing in the hot tub in the evening was very peaceful. Easy access to Shropshire way. Close to Clun which has a spa shop. Not to far from Ludlow, which is lovely to wander around and Mortimer forest has some lovely walks. Leintwardine has a lovely chip shop, the fiddler's elbow, which is gluten free and has vegetarian and vegan options. It's a 20 minute drive, but can pre order online to collect and then sit and eat by the river. This is one cottage I would definitely return to again.

Little Bicton is a lovely welcoming, spacious cottage with superb views of the surrounding Shropshire hills.
You have to negotiate a 180yds rough track up to the cottage but it is well worth it once you arrive. Set in a superb, quiet and peaceful rural position surrounded by the glorious green Shropshire countryside. The cottage is very spacious and well equipped with comfortable furniture downstairs and equally comfortable beds upstairs; however just beware of one or two low doorways. Outside thereâs a large enclosed garden surrounded by fields containing sheep and a couple of friendly horses. The small town of Clun is just a five minute drive where there is a good local grocery store. All in all, a delightfully roomy and welcoming cottage that was one of the best we've stayed in over the last 45+ years.

We had the most amazing week stay at Little Bicton and will 100% return.
Set in the most stunning and peaceful location. Out of the way but that was perfect for us. The cottage was spotless I have never stayed in a holiday home so clean, and with the current situation (Covid 19) that was a bonus. The cottage was very well equipped with all kitchenware there wasnât one thing that we needed that they didnât have! The owners were very easy to contact and very helpful lovely people. The hot tub is great and the fact that this is being emptied after each stay is brilliant! (What a job!!) There are great countryside walks around Little Bicton with animals right on the doorstep! If your reading this review go ahead and get this beautiful place booked! You will not regret it!
