What our customers say about their holidays

    • Mrs Baker - Verified booking

We relaxed as soon as we arrived! We loved being able to walk over the road and be on the beach but also being able to retreat away when we needed a rest. The house was fresh and felt loved. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we could need. The beds were comfy! We used the parking for unloading and loading on arrival/departure but parked in the harbour or opposite The Atlantic Inn aside from then - we knew our car wasn't small so would likely not fit well (it fitted but so tightly it felt as though it was going to end in wiping it down a wall at some point if we did it often!) but being able to park close for those days was great and it was easy to find parking close-by that was better sized for our car when we needed it. There's an outside tap for washing down muddy or sandy things which we found really helpful. The location is great, both for Porthleven but also for the surrounding area. Plenty to do without getting into the car, and even more if you do. All in all we loved it and would happily have stayed for another week!

    • The Rastegari Family - Verified booking

One of the most beautifully and thoughtfully decorated airbnb accommodations I've seen. The cottage is Beautiful (with capital B). It's equipped with almost anything you may wish, and even more, and of a very high standard. We took my parents (who are visiting us from abroad for a short time) to Cornwall for the weekend, and we all very much enjoyed our trip (even the weather cooperated on the Saturday, being all lovely and sunny despite the forecast predicting storms and rain). One of the highlights of our trip was Merrilee; parents particularly loved it. We only wish we could have stayed longer, and will definitely go back if we are in that part of the country again. Thank you very much Sue for our fantastic stay.

You will have a wonderful stay in this beautiful cottage. It really does have EVERYTHING you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. Great that children are thought of too with the stair gate, high chair and cot bed if needed. Clean and tidy throughout the cottage with lots of little extras. If you prefer to stay in and cook the cottage has a fully fitted kitchen - oven, hob, microwave, washer/dryer and all utensils that you could possibly need. Tea and coffee facilities also. Bedrooms are bright, airy and spacious with plenty of pillows etc for a comfy nights sleep. No expense has been spared on this cottage. Would definitely recommend the cottage and will stay again in the future for sure!!

Porthleven is an unspoilt gem...easy access on good roads to all the places on your tick list. Shops, pubs and restaurants all soooooo friendly..and dog friendly too...we spent three of our days just mooching around the village and coastline...unheard of for us. Such a relaxing place. The property we rented..Merrilee..was lovely..well thought out and very comfortable...bed was amazing... and the owner left added touches which made such a difference after a long drive....fresh flowers, wine, milk , eggs and a cream tea all laid out. FAB. To have enjoyed our holiday this much with " not so good" weather, it must be a great place!

The property was great for our needs to provide a comfortable social space for a big family gathering.

We also rented Edwin’s View. The open plan upstairs layout was perfect for eating together as a big group and having lots of spaces for cosy chats. We challenged the kitchen space with large dinners and it met up to our requirements. It was very well equipped and we wanted for nothing. The bedrooms were spacious and comfy and the bathrooms met our needs. Outdoors the animal feeding/watching and the badminton/football space were very popular for all age groups and it was great for a base for cycling and running. Lots of parking space too. We’re coming back! ASAP! Thank you.
