What our customers say about their holidays

    • Sharon L - Verified booking

“We have been to Sheringham on holiday many times, but this was our first stay at the Sidings. What a delight! We have all expressed a wish to return here. It was comfortable, well equipped for self catering, and we all became train spotters during the week with the novelty of having the trains literally at the end of the garden. We chose a bungalow as we were bringing a wheelchair this time, and it was very suitable for a chair and walker. The location is straightforward for accessing the town and the sea front, and once we’d worked out the dropped kerbs in town, we became quite expert, as this was our first go at wheelchair manoeuvring as well! We only really paid attention to the garage two doors down at the end of the week, but it has a very handy supermarket in there with all the things you run out of for convenience. The property is well maintained and comes with useful things like the trinket trays by the bed to drop rings and watches in overnight. Plenty of plates, mugs and cutlery too. All in all, we were very pleased with this accommodation and are looking to return soon.”

Our first time to Salthouse after many years spent visiting Thornham and surrounding area further up the coast. It has mad a wonderful change. The cottage has been comfortable and very well-equipped. The girls have especially enjoyed the choice of gardens for a game of football. We walked to Cley one day along the beach - great weather. To Blakeney and back from Cley stocking up on goodies from the Cley Deli, then buying lots of interesting books from the second-hand bookshop. I made my first trip to Cromer where we enjoyed learning about it history, then to Overstrand to see the cliff erosion. Off for our second meal at The Dun Cow where the food is excellent. We would love to come back again. We went up to the church where there is a small football pitch. We played a match - The Radford Rovers vs Fiorentina Azurri. The locals came to watch and were very impressed. Very happy Benji the dog who loved it as much as we did. Thank you.

To be honest, I only had modest expectations as this was a late booking and there were only few properties available in the area. However, both my wife and I were stunned by the quality and comfort of this property. Despite going here in the late autumn, the railway carriage was really cosy and warm. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed. Great wi-fi with a Smart TV meant we could watch all our favourite shows on Amazon, Netflix, NowTV etc. The carriage is in a very peaceful setting within an enclosed large paddock; so very dog friendly. I highly recommend that you go to The Sidings bakery in Melton Constable for breakfast pastries that you can enjoy in the paddock with a cup of tea. It is just a short drive to the Jurassic coast for fossil hunting. We have no hesitation in recommending this property; it is amazing.

Fantastic and unique stay. The railway carriage was perfect. Finding it would have been tricky without the very clear instructions given, but we had no issue and checking in was very simple. The carriage itself is beautiful. Bright and clean with the most comfortable bed I've ever had in a holiday let! Everything you could possibly need is there, from hand sanitiser to tin opener, a blanket on the sofa for chillier evenings, nothing has been overlooked. We took two dogs, one of which is an escape artist and very large. We had no issue here at all and the enclosed outdoor area is enormous. There are beautiful walks straight from the railway carriage and the coast is only a short distance away. We will definitely visit again!
