"Apartment had everything needed. The only thing it didn't have was a washing machine/tumble dryer, which would have been useful when we came back grubby and wet from a couple of walks. The bed was very comfortable. The apartment is right in the heart of Kirkby Stephen, which was convenient for the shops and the pubs, and there were walks from the apartment or within a short drive. The wine and chocolates in the apartment when we arrived were a nice touch. The only downside was parking, which was limited next to the apartment, but there was parking in the street behind and a walk-through. If all else failed there is a public car park a bit further back a few minutes walk away. It could also get noisy at night, especially at the weekend. The pub just up and across the road from the apartment seemed to attract the youngsters, who were quite vocal a couple of nights. Also it would not be suitable for anyone with mobility problems, as there were two flights of steep stairs to get to the sitting room and kitchen and the bedroom was on the first floor. However we would certainly consider staying there again if we were in the area and we would recommend to friends and family."

"We chose location, location, location due to meeting friends in area. We enjoyed our stay the apartment had great views onto the market square and beyond onto the hills. They had all the facilities including washing machine that a stay required. It was tastefully decorated and had a quirky swing chair that was enjoyed by friends who visited and by my partner. The location was convenient for The lakes and Yorkshire Moors. The town itself had enjoyable scenic walks. The Appleby Horse Fair was coming up and we saw the horses and carriages of the traveller community on route to Appleby. With the Appleby fair upcoming the nights were becoming more noisy. The owner had produced a short brochure of local amenities, restaurants and how to use the central heating system. The only down side was the initial set of stairs that were quite steep and narrow. All in all we thoroughly liked our stay and would recommend to couples."

"Little gem. Modern, simple life especially, white furnishings, fresh and very clean. Located on the busy Market Square, great if you like to watch the world go by whilst relaxing in comfort. First floor beautiful double bedroom and bathroom with Jacuzzi (lovely end to a day). Plus realistic big bath sheets (pet hate if mine is tiny towels!) Upper floor open plan living and kitchen. Kitchen extremely well equipped with full size fridge freezer too. Little essentials like washing up liquid, soaps, cling film, foil etc all included. Decent sized TV with freeview and DVD s. Lovely comfy sofa to snuggle on. Plus quirky swinging chair. Loved our stay, I really didn't want to come back to real life! Highly recommended for a romantic getaway."

"A wonderful home away from home with fantastic original features and furnishings in keeping with the house. Absolutely loved the larder.Stunning views at the back across the fields, I could have stood gazing across for hours, so peaceful.Only comments are, agree with another rating that there should be some hanging space in the feature room, there needs to be more detailed user information especially for the Rayburn for those not used to cooking on one, and tenants if using the open fire should clean it up property afterward - whoever was there before us left a huge pile of ash under the top grate which took us a good 20 minutes of our own holiday time to clear up.Aside from the points above, would most definitely stay again."
