Located 4 miles from Kirkby Stephen, this cottage offers a perfect place to explore the surrounding countryside with plenty of eateries, cafés and shops all within a few miles. Set between the Lake District, the North Pennines and the Yorkshire Dales, the cottage is close to the pretty towns of Appleby, Sedbergh and Penrith which are all within 20 miles and have an excellent range of attractions, leisure and shopping facilities. The hamlet itself is picturesque with Brough Castle just 150 meters from the property, as well as a seasonal ice cream parlour and café. Set off on two wheels or wear your trusty hiking boots and explore the unspoilt Eden Valley. Alternatively, take a boat from Pooley Bridge (25 miles) to Howtown where you can walk to Glenridding and catch the boat back to Pooley Bridge. This was one of Wordsworth's favourite walks and offers views of Ullswater and Helvellyn. As you walk into this well presented cottage, you will find yourself at the foot of the stairs with the lounge to your left.
