What our customers say about their holidays

An Torr is in a fantastic location.

The Glen hotel is easily walkable for a night cap and though the shop is further away it's a flat walk and very pleasant. Loads to do in the local area. We were 2 families with 2, 6 and 7 year old children and they had a ball. Feeding the reindeer was magical and Loch Morlich was so beautiful. On rainy days there are a couple of soft plays within easy driving distance but we were lucky so were outside most of the time. The Balavil hotel has a small indoor swimming pool which was great fun but it does get really busy so go early evening to avoid the hoards! The Highland Folk museum is huge and we went twice, and the Highland Wildlife park was a lovely jaunt too. The Landmark Centre in Carrbrige was a huge hit. Pricey to get in but it really is a whole day affair so that makes it worth the money. The house itself was tremendously well equipped; warm, cosy and really relaxing after a day out. The only downside was the downstairs twin bedroom was noisy if people moving about or having a shower upstairs.

Katchana is the perfect home from home.

It was warm, comfy, peaceful and extremely well equipped. It was so well equipped it felt like someone had leant us their home for a week. It has everything you need. The bed is comfy, the shower was great. Sofas are great. The sky Q box is a nice touch so you can record something you don't want to miss and watch it later. Then there's the hot tub.. just amazing. The location is incredible with lovely views over Loch Insh. And there are some amazing walks either a very short drive or walkable from the door. I would recommend walking to Feshiebridge and checking out the sculpture trail. Also highly recommend driving to Uagh Lochan and walking the red route. The views are breathtaking. I've loved other places I've stayed, but this is the first time I felt devastated to be leaving a location. If you're lucky enough to be booking Katchana you won't be sorry.

Wonderful Stay at [KATCHANA]** **Rating: (5/5)** The cottage is situated in a beautiful area, surrounded by stunning scenery.

We enjoyed hiking in the nearby trails and the proximity to local attractions was a huge plus. Upon arrival, we found the cottage to be spotless. It was well-maintained and provided a welcoming atmosphere. The amenities were excellent. The kitchen was well-equipped, making meal preparation easy, and we especially appreciated the complimentary coffee and tea. The beds were incredibly comfortable! We had great nights of sleep and the living area was cozy, perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. The host was very responsive and provided clear instructions for check-in and check-out, which made our arrival smooth. **Overall, we had a fantastic stay at KATCHANA We would definitely recommend it to others looking for a peaceful retreat. Thanks for a lovely experience!** #FARHAN KHAN MOHAMMED……

We made the most of our stay and the cottage was well stocked on arrival.

Living room area, sofa, and kitchen are looking tired but still serviceable so didn't really bother us but felt disappointing for the price. Generally the cottage needs a good clean and lick of paint especially the living area. The bathroom upstairs and bedroom down stairs had doors which didn't open fully which made access difficult for my elderly father. Our bedding, towels and bathroom were clean and comfortable but towels could be larger. The people in other cottages, the permanent residence were friendly and welcoming and the village is a good central point to explore. Overall its a good base for exploring Scotland and although cottage was a little disappointing we still enjoyed our stay.

The beauty of Katchana is that it is timeless.

If you want a busy winter holiday or a action packed summer break or in our case, a place to relax and let the world drift past lazily, then Katchana is the perfect place. On clear nights the skies share a billion miles of stars and in the morning, feathered friends gather to be fed at your door. Pine Martins and Deer are also around the property and if you’re lucky, the pine Martins come close to the cottage. The beds are comfortable, the living area is relaxing and the kitchen has all you need to suit your needs. And that hot tub!! A perfect way to end or start your day. Love love love this place.
