What our customers say about their holidays

    • Kane - Verified booking

Apologies for lateness in leaving this feedback - has been a busy couple of weeks since returning to the toddler.

First and foremost we wanted to thank you for our stay at The Hen House which we thoroughly enjoyed even if only for 2 nights. We were impressed by the quality of the design of The Hen House, the interior, electronics and setup with manual and the amazing wood fired hot tub! All of this added to a really enjoyable getaway which we have already recommended to others and will continue to do so. We'd very much like to book another stay at The Hen House in the near future! As the stay was pretty much all positive, there isn't that much to say around negatives or improvements but I will mention a few things for feedback: As we don't drink alcohol the gift bottle of wine was sort of wasted on us as a gift. We've stayed at similar small getaways and, on top of alcohol, a local delicacy - smoked fish, eggs or something of the sort is usually given as a welcome. This would have been a super touch! Permaculture Design could be applied to the courtyard to make it more lush and interactive and could easily house hens within the courtyard area. Organic grow spaces could be made amongst the large gravel area. Trees in courtyard need a good pruning. The Smeg coffee machine was great to use.  Bringing this into focus a bit more with extra brew making kit and organic milk would be fantastic. Mattress could be firmer to provide extra support and possibly less pillows. It's difficult to get to sleep first few nights when staying away somewhere if the mattress is too soft and sinks. Overall this is a 5 star piece of well crafted and finished accommodation. It's nicely thought out and has a really homely feel to it. Great travelling distance to Inverness and rest highlands. Highly recommend!

      O my word !

This bungalow is absolutely STUNNING. It is spotlessly clean and huge inside, with everything you could wish for to make for the perfect holiday. All the contents of this bungalow are of a high quality and just beautiful. The bungalow has so much space inside it too. Great safe parking on the large gravel front/drive .The garden is also lovely with a huge hot tub and fantastic under cover area with a table & chairs & BBQ, we used it every night to eat our meals. The bed we slept in was really comfy and the shower was huge and lovely and powerful . We loved the table tennis in the garage it was great fun. The village was gorgeous with plenty of little walks from the door. We can't really express with words just how beautiful this bungalow is. We have stayed in many beautiful cottages over the last few years but O my.......this one just blows them ALL out of the water. Thank you Evelyn for letting us stay in your GORGEOUS bungalow. We really appreciate all your hard work that you must put in to this wonderful bungalow. Loved all the art work too. Best Wishes Stuart & Julie x

What a fantastic cottage this is and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

It was like a wee fairytale cottage, lovely and cozy, spotlessly clean and had everything you would need for your visit. I absolutely loved the bed with the amazing wood panel on the headboard and the amazing gates/doors at the bottom. The large mirror looked beautiful too. The only one thing I did not like so much were the seats. I did not find them very comfortable. The appliances were amazing and they have thought of everything you might need. The garden was lovely with 2 beautiful pagodas. One with seats and a table and one with an amazing hot tub. It is wood fired and the first time we used it my husband tried to cook me !! Next time he got the hang of it better :-) Even the fencing around this cottage was beautiful Chinese / Japanese style. As you can guess this was right up my street and I loved every minute of being there. We had lovely walks around the estate as well so it was a very relaxing stay. Thank you xx

Excellent accommodation, very spacious and with high quality fittings.

Good location near to shops, and lots to do in the surrounding area. It was only two of us staying so we had plenty of space, but even with 6 people in here, it's a lovely size of a property with plenty amenities for larger groups (e.g. two fridges!). Having the hot tub was lovely (with robes to wear out there) and watching fireworks from it was an absolute treat. The host was incredibly helpful with questions I had both before arriving and once we were there. The only two small things (very small, we had an excellent week) was that it was a little chilly on arrival (though I wonder if that was because all of the windows were opened for cleaning it because of Covid) and the hot tub wasn't heated up on the evening that we arrived. We would definitely stay again though, highly recommended!

We had a wonderful weeks stay at this property!

We’ve stayed in many holiday homes and this was the best by a mile. It has everything you can ever need and want. Evelyn is lovely and communication before during and after was great. What we loved most about the home was how cosy and convenient it was. The hot tub was a huge bonus which we enjoyed every day and night. We walked into town a lot and enjoyed meals at The Priory hotel and also the Indian and both were excellent. The local coffee shop was also amazing with delicious cakes you must try! The whole town was so friendly and quaint! Overall the cleanliness, convenience, comfort and luxury was just what we wanted and needed for a perfect holiday. Would not hesitate to stay again! Thanks Evelyn x
