What our customers say about their holidays

We had a lovely Christmas at Beck View.

It is a lovely property and was perfect for 2 families coming together. The hot tub was fantastic and was enjoyable night and day, come rain or sun and we had plenty of rain! We found the beds very comfortable and enjoyed having smart TVs in all bedrooms. The water pressure was great, sometimes more than one shower was on at once and no one suffered with low pressure. The sofa was comfortable but it was so annoying every time it moved when you got on and off, we were constantly moving each piece back into place. It would be ideal if they could be stuck together somehow and when they moved, you saw the amount of dust under them! We had no problem cooking for 7 of us, we did find the plates small and thankfully some of the party lived locally as we had to get larger pans as found them on the small side. The property was lovely and warm, too warm at times and we sometimes struggled to control the heating but it was so cosy! I would say reading the other reviews, we do agree with majority of what was said. The cleaning could have been better, dust on the lamp shades, the showers in the corners were dirty, behind cabinets we found a bit of dust but nothing that warranted any callouts, it’s more just a pointer for the owner and cleaner really. The property is self catering and we understand that but there was no cleaning spray so we had to go and buy our own, no salt or pepper, only 1 toilet roll per bathroom is start off where previously we have had 2 in other self catering properties. We found damage to the ceiling in the lounge which needs looking into but I suppose with back to back bookings, it is difficult to find the find. We noticed the hot tub cooled down on our last evening but again, nothing of too much concern. The owner very kindly left us 2 bottles of Prosecco and a box of chocolates for our arrival which was lovely, thank you. We also had some confusion with the bed configuration which the owner responded too quickly, again, thank you. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time and have left with wonderful memories, there are just a few things that I feel could be improved to make it a solid 5 out of 5! I would definitely return and would recommend Beck View to others.

Although this Bungalow was advertised as luxury i would not have put it in that category.

lacking cupboard space, seating, out door seating on table and chairs. needed a seating area that was covered. No garden and not much outdoor space. he only facility was the hot tub which we had several issues with. hose pie was looked away, and had to fill will washing up bowl, water was very unclean to look at although when asking they pointed out it was due to the heavy rain fall and was safe to drink? but cleaning your teeth and drinking pale brown water was a no go. bedrooms upstairs very comfortable and fantastic showers, very small ensuite bathroom down stairs and hard to access for someone with mobility issues. lounge and dinning area very basic, table and chairs with L shaped sofa. kitchen lacking in lots of thing, dishwasher seal rubber came off after every use. cooker hard to use no storage space for food to say it slept 8 people. very tight road to enter the property so if your not good at reversing don't book.

Wow! Such a beautiful house for a weekend with friends in the Lakes!

I sometimes worry that a rental property will not live up to the pictures online, however, this property excelled in all areas. From the minute we stepped out the car we instantly fell in love with the house - the cleanliness outside was second to none, and the views and space you have outdoors is fantastic! The hot tub was amazing, and the large patio area was great for Al Fresco dining! The inside of the property was equally as clean, and very spacious. All rooms were stunning and the beds - SO comfy, we didn’t want to leave! The only criticism we would have is no basic condiments were provided. A simple welcome hamper would be a lovely touch with potentially 2 large bottles of water, milk, sugar, salt & pepper and kitchen roll. Other than this, we have no other negative comments, and would fully recommend this property!

"Our annual friends' retreat led us to Beck View this year, and it was a complete delight!

This cottage is an absolute gem boasting breathtaking views and a clean and modern, well-equipped setup. With 2 en-suite double bedrooms upstairs and 2 more rooms downstairs, along with 2 bathrooms, it comfortably accommodated our group of 6. The garden, including a hot tub on the patio, which added an extra touch of luxury to our stay. A 20-minute walk led us to a welcoming pub where we enjoyed delicious food and a warm atmosphere. The only minor hiccup was the living room seating – a long corner sofa that tended to move apart while we sat, but it was a trivial issue that didn't bother us too much. Beck View won our hearts so much so that we immediately re-booked it for next year! Looking forward to creating more unforgettable memories in what is a really lovely and fabulous retreat

We had a great week, the house was really comfy and perfect for three mature couples to share.

The hot tub was delightful. It was really nice to meet the owner on arrival and chat about the history of the house. Lovely location, not far from the motorway or from Kendal but surrounded by peaceful countryside. Fresh flowers in the house was a lovely touch. Suggestions: a welcome tray on arrival to make a cup of coffee/tea after the journey would have been nice. We found the only chopping/cheese board was cracked when we went to use it and a set of chopping boards would have been useful. A roll of kitchen towel on the empty holder would be nice also as the rest of the house was so well equipped. We couldn't find any black linen bags at the end of our stay so left the linen on the bathroom floor. Overall a really lovely stay, thank you.
