Was disappointed the washing machine was broken.
At first we thought it was just one of those things but having read other reviews now it appears its been an ongoing issue that hasn't been addressed. Also neighbours were quite disrespectful complaining we weren't parked near enough to the wall and then subsequently had their own friends round who parked in front of our gate blocking us from leaving the cottage basically. Also their dog fouled in the courtyard and it wasn't cleaned up. That's no fault of sykes or the owner of our cottage though. Big thumbs up for the numerous books, games, dvds available on arrival. A very good selection, thanks for that. As for basic facilities I saw someone complain about I think this was very unfair on the owners. To grumble there wasn't milk or coffee provided is frankly ridiculous. Why this would be expected I don't know. True essentials were all provided. Our only other negative would be that there needs to be more of a focus on directions to find the cottage. It wasn't easy. On the whole though a very enjoyable break and we would definitely recommend.

Very hard to find in a cul-de-sac off the main road through Tregoodwell a detailed map would have been very helpful, even the residents of this small Hamlet didnât know where it was.
Picture of property doesnât show how tight the access is and was made to feel apprehensive about parking and succumbed the unfriendliness of one of the neighbours over our parking two cars even though we had checked with Sykes and owner prior to booking that this was OK. We were also told that there was parking in the side roads, this really isnât the case, roads too narrow, and was already taken over by locals transit vans and other rental properties. Was disappointed that the cupboards were bare of any essential items ie condiments would have been nice to know in advance, plus more suitable dishes needed to use in microwave. Fridge/Freezer doors didnât close properly without pushing hard on them. Found double bed creaked hence didnât sleep well also toilet seat in en-suite lose and doesnât fit properly plus toilet in wet room rocks. Most of the windows donât close properly either.

We had a lovely stay at the cottage with our young children and dog.
Compared to other cottages we have stayed in, it was very clean. The bedrooms have a comfortable feel and the upstairs master bedroom is lovely. The cottage is well equipped and has everything one would need for a week to relax. The kitchen has everything needed and there is enough space downstairs for a family of 5. There is a baby gate and high chair available if needed. The holiday park the cottage is in is very quiet and there in no light pollution and the night sky is just spectacular. It is important to note that the garden is not fenced in if you're coming with pets. There are many lovely beaches nearby, although each is about a 30 minute drive. A fantastic soft play / farm day out for the kids on a rainy day is only about 15 minutes away. One thing worth mentioning in terms of maintenance is that the upstairs towel radiator in the bathroom is very lose.

Great cottage, Very pleased with the facilities.
The Camelford town is quite small with only one working pub, the Masons Arms. Quite dated inside but ok. The meals we had were very big. There is a great little cafe that does excellent cream teas and lovely breakfasts opposite a nice park. there's a pharmacy , CoOp and a couple of other stores. It's about 20 mins drive to port Isaac (doc Martin), if you go you must have a fresh crab sandwich at the Old school house restaurant . There is a bus service (10 & 95) that go to the local beaches and beyond. The airfield museum is worth a visit if you like war type stuff 10 mins away. Some of the country lanes are a bit scary if your used to town driving. Definitely worth doing a walk up Roughtor, only about 25 mins to go up to the top and great 360 deg view of the area, Roughtor road is single track road so be ready to pull in to a passing place.

What a wonderful place this is.
If you are looking for peace and quiet then you will find it at Honey pot lodge. In a beautiful area of the countryside, but not too far away from anywhere. The lodge itself is extremely comfortable, with everything that you would need. Very high standards of furnishings, well equipped and spotlessly clean. We took our dog, and there are lots of lovely places to go walking. The beaches are all within easy driving distance. The site itself is nice and small, and extremely well maintained. It is so peaceful, truly a very relaxing place to stay. The owner of the lodge was incredibly helpful, nothing was too much trouble, as was the manager of the site. I really canât recommend this place highly enough, and we hope to return!
