"The location itself was fine, if a little more out of the way than we expected, with very narrow lanes. The lodge was warm, inviting, comfortable and reasonably well equipped with pretty much all we needed. The washing machine was easier to use than our own, great for keeping on top of the laundry before returning home. Fridge and freezer worked well and we always had plenty of hot water. The site afforded us the opportunity to see hunting birds, weasels, squirrels and rabbits in close proximity and the silence was to die for.On the negative side, maintenance in the lodge left a bit to be desired. So many things that needed a little attention in order to prevent spoiling the overall stay. The worst of which were the beds with very uncomfortable, worn out unpleasant mattresses. We had to buy mattress protectors before using. Many light bulbs did not work, the toilet flush handle was falling off, the cooker extractor fan and light did not work and needed cleaning. The en-suite window would not open and the master bedroom wardrobe door nearly fell off. I took pictures and videos of all of these things. Its a shame that these (and more) details have been overlooked, because we had a great holiday in some of the most dramatic landscapes with coastal walks and uncrowded beaches. The weather was fine for the most part considering it was the end of the season."

"S19152 is an ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle of inner city life. The cottage is tastefully decorated offering a perfect home from home feel with an excellent kitchen and exceptionally comfortable beds. The enclosed garden is perfect for dogs and has the added bonus of an array of birdlife. Most nights we fell asleep to the hooting of owls and awoke to woodpeckers. Although very remote it did not 'feel' isolated, in fact, the property was so comfortable and comforting 'like your favourite blanket'. The cleanliness and warm welcome from Maria was lovely - the scones were a delicious welcome gift washed down with a perfect cuppa. The ponds on the property and the field offered a quick walk and run for the dog before lying down in front of the wood burner for the night. If you want a perfect getaway I would highly recommend a visit. We will definitely return."

"When we holiday, we like a place that is close to the things we need, but away from lots of people. S50597 was just right. It was on a lovely farm, so not a lot of people, even though it is one of three cottages on the site. The site was quiet, and just what we wanted. The owner was three most days if we needed anything, but the cottage was well equipped and very clean. Nearby was Hartland, which we used a few times for shopping or a coffee stop. We did day tripe to Bude and Westward Ho, where the weather was adorable and warm sunshine, even in October.Quiet, well equipped, good hospitality, and near to beaches and beautiful coastal walks. Just what we needed.Thank you"

"We had an excellent time at garden cottage. The photos really don’t do this place justice! Fab gardens and views! Drive to the house is a bit ropey, very narrow but totally worth it. Really friendly owners, did everything to help us, even got a new bbq for us to use! The garden is not enclosed so if you have a dog it was a little tricky keeping him near by but that’s the only down side. We had fab weather the beach is super close, has a lovely restaurant, definitely worth a visit! I would recommend garden cottage to anyone looking for a relaxing brake near to the beach. We will definitely be going back."

"Lovely cute cottage so peaceful and very clean. Enjoyed exploring the local area with great walks from the door. Fantastic shower and so comfy bed. No problems walking up the hill to the village where two of the pubs served lovely food with great beer gardens. Pop-in shop had essentials also the post office had somethings too. Lovely friendly locals. We loved walking to the coast and ate at the Wreckers Bar at Hartland Quay. Covelly is worth a visit very pretty and unique. We were blessed with super weather and certainly made the most of it in this super area and cottage. Thank you to the owners."
