"This house was once owned by my great Aunt. She lived there for many years since she was a child. We would call into see her every day and we often stayed with her as she was quite elderly - she was 97 when she died. It was once a working farm and I still remember cows in the fields and sheep opposite her house. As children, we would pick raspberries from the garden and sell corn on the cobs from the front of the house. We used to shout 'Cooeee' as we walked down the 'passage' to let her know that we had arrived. The house is old and creaky with many tales of spooky things going on and bumps in the night. Stories of smugglers, murderers and hangings abound. As a family we all experienced things that we could not explain. Doors opening and closing and foot steps heard. The pantry door would slide open at night and a general feeling of being watched and followed felt. Despite this and the fact that the internal layout of the house has changed somewhat since then, the feeling of welcome and warmth has not. I could still picture where my great Aunt's favourite arm chair sat. The door into the now lounge is the same and still requires the knack to fully latch and unlatch it. Hearing the familiar click as it fell into place made me giggle. As a child, I used to sit on that door step a touch the wood as it was smooth and aged. It was a wonderful feeling for me to be able to go back to Aunty Gert's house. We had a fabulous, relaxing and comfortable stay. "

"It's a nice bungalow, 1930s decor. The owners who live next door are friendly and not intrusive. The kitchen is too small if you need to cook a roast with all the trimmings - no work surfaces and no dishwasher either! Also, the mattress on the double bed is very soft. I have a back problem and ended up sleeping on the floor. I had not understood the sentence on the website indicating that this rental was not suitable for the infirm.Because the rental is on a lane off the main road it is very peaceful and the view is superb - lots of birds about. It's in easy reach of the New Forest, Winchester ad Bounemouth. The Monmouth Ash pub is 10 minutes' walk away and there's a supermarket next to it with a filling station.Oh, and don't forget to bring your own bath towels - they are not supplied, in spite of the price."

"S19980 is a lovely small cottage, decorated in a 1930's style. It is well equipped, well furnitured and contains nearly everything necessary for a relaxing stay, including a washing machine! As the kitchen is rather small this property might not be suitable if your're in for cooking big meals, otherwise it's perfectly fine as all items normally required in a kitchen are there. S19980 is situated in a quiet area of Verwood with the town centre containing a tesco express, a butcher, a café and other shops are within a five-minute's walk. This cottage is ideal for trips to Bournemouth, Poole and other places around Dorset and the New Forest. The owners living next door are always helpful and friendly people. We would definitively come again!"

"We really enjoyed our week stay at S19980. The cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The location is very quiet and well away from traffic but close enough to Verwood town centre by foot(10 minute walk). The owners are extremely helpful and friendly and gave us a guided tour of the property on arrival. If you like motorbikes, ask Brian to show you his collection of classic machines. We would definitely go back again without a doubt!. Verwood has a Tesco Express, a family Butchers and a branch of Costos and there's a family friendly public house 6-7 minutes walk from the cottage. There's also a new Morrison's store opened up recently 2-3 minutes away by car."

"The lodge was really lovely, so spacious and fully equipped with everything we needed. However just a couple of small points; the bathroom smelt of paint which I assume it was because of the problem of water flooding out of the bath when having a shower! It looked like the wood below the basin cupboard regularly gets wet. Another thing was there was nowhere to hang coats so they ended up being hung over the dining chairs. And one last thing was that the airer was a bit of a Krypton Factor puzzle that six us of weren't able to solve!! And with a lot of wet towels around we needed a decent airer! But on the whole we really loved the lodge and would definitely return!"
