"Sorry to say that this cottage looked nothing like the advertisement. It was very tired looking on the outside and was in a dark valley. The garden which promised much was around the back and the only window was at the front, so no view of it and you had to go through a gate to the other cottages to access it. Kitchen area was good, clean and well equipped. Bathroom tiny but clean. However, the main room with kitchen at the back was grubby with dusty cobwebs, with a smelly mat on the floor and loose wires hanging from the TV to the plug which was overloaded on an adapter. Very dangerous with a dog in the cottage. We had a five foot bed with a 4 foot six inch quilt cover on it. The mattress on it was appalling - rather like springs covered with fabric- we measured the bed as owner disputed the size and said there was a foam mattress on it. The owner's response to be fair, was immediate and on our return to the property, the rug had been cleaned and we had a good thick mattress and a larger quilt on the bed. However, this did not make up for the dark dismal feeling in the cottage - the leather sofa had no comfort as you slid forward off it all the time. The hoover was useless so that was perhaps an excuse for the cleaner - it had no brushes - just a suction nozzle. We failed to clean our dog's hair off the rug before we left as it was impossible with the hoover prvided. Sad to say this was the worst cottage we have ever stayed in - we were in this business ourselves in Cornwall before retirement and our standard was so high - like most cottages in Cornwall. Needs to have a photo of the outside that isn't many years old .......oh dear. We left two days early. Not recommended."

"This is a beautiful house and gardens with a slightly quirky layout. Kate the housekeeper provided the best welcome hamper we've ever had from a Snaptrip property and there was a very good supply of all the little things you don't always get in a holiday rental. You really don't need to take anything except beach stuff to this house. [Note that the beach isn't an easy stroll away for young children and the infirm. We drove down and managed to get a space in the limited parking both times]. Having said that, the games were missing parts so we were glad we'd taken our own. The house has a lived in feel which for us, was both a positive and a negative: the sofas were comfy but not pristine so we didn't feel the need to plump up the cushions every time we got up. If you're looking for white leather sofas and immaculate surroundings, this isn't the house for you. There were a couple of missing/loose spindles on the banisters and things like chipped/cracked tiles which makes us think the house is a little overpriced compared with other Snaptrip homes we've stayed at but I suppose you're paying for the location as well. The village is lovely and you need to book for the best restaurants (Schooners highly recommended). Parking in the village isn't easy. If you're a beach family, it's a great house and location. Easy to get to other beaches and towns."

"we enjoyed this cottage. it has enough space for our family of 5 (inc teens and young adults) and a golden retriever. the cottage was very clean and had most things we needed for a good stay. the Christmas hamper was fabulous and a nice touch. could have done with more seating in the lounge but we brought in a chair from the hall. bathrooms are modern and 3 toilets is always a bonus with teens!the pale carpets were a challenge to keep clean in a wet, muddy and windy week as our dog loves muddy puddles and racing through waves so we appreciated the outdoor tap and hose and we needed this every time we came in from a walk for cleaning dog and boots.Glad we brought lots of dog towels with us! the garden is not absolutely dog proof if you have a dog who jumps up on walls easily just to see what's on the other side! Our dog got out of the garden on the first day as there is a low wall at one end - no harm done as we supervise our dog at all times. Great to have a field behind the house for the early morning canine walks before breakfast.this house is a great location for both North and South coasts and as we enjoy going to both - the location was good."

"We were extremely disappointed with our choice of Bannsvale Barn. On arrival it looked nothing like it had in the photos, which are very misleading. The rug just inside the door was filthy and the property generally was grubby and worn looking. The plastic tablecloth in the kitchen with a saxo salt and pepper pot reminded me of a bad fish and chip restaurant and it was very uninviting. The kitchen equipment needs checking as some of it is unusable and needs replacing. Upstairs was a bit more acceptable although the mattress was quite soft on the double bed. We did complain about the state of the rug and dirty conditions and to be fair the owner did take it out to clean but it really needed to be replaced. We have stayed in many cottages, all of which have been dog friendly but this is by far the worst and I would not recommend to anyone."

"We had an amazing holiday at S86051 , family of 8 spanning three generations. The cottage is really lovely and equipped with everything you need.the location is stunning with loads of land and a lovely summer house with seating and outdoor games for the children it also has facilities to make drinks in , there is a stream close by and the children loved it . The hosts Kevin and De are fantastic and went above and beyond to make our stay a truly wonderful time . We had home made cream scones waiting for us on arrival, the best I've ever tasted 😋 We went blackberry picking on the land with the children and made crumble with them . We all slept brilliant , it's so quiet and peaceful even the children slept in late 🙌 Perranporth beach isn't far away and it's a fab beach . We will definitely be coming back here ."
