"We stayed at the Cider Barn the weekend of 16th March and wow….what a fantastic time we had. The house was absolutely stunning and so clean! All of the rooms were beautifullly set out and it was a real advantage all of them being en-suite. The house was spacious but also warm and cosy with spectacular views! The huge dining table is magnificent and the lounge area very comfortable! The kitchen was very well equipped and meant we could easily cook a large meal for 13 of us. The owners have literally thought of everything from two toasters, two kettles, two dishwashers etc, to having lots of games available and tea and coffee when we got there. We had such a great weekend and location is great, close to Exeter, the beach and we had a lovely lunch at the Smugglers Inn which is about 15 mins away. It’s really easy to find the house, the sat nav takes you to the bottom of the long steep drive, and then you basically just keep going all the way to the top. Also a massive thank you to Ralph who went above and beyond to rescue our friend when the taxi couldn’t make it out to the house to get her because of the heavy snow! He very kindly rescued her with his 4 x 4 and managed to safely get her to the train station, what a superstar! Could not rate this place highly enough and we are looking forward to hopefully returning one day."

"Oh what a fantastic holiday!!We booked Ridge House for the purpose of a two week extended family holiday and it more than exceeded our expectations in size and layout. On arrival, the property was spotlessly clean and Becky, Rob and Alison were available to answer any enquiries. We booked a mid-rental clean and would recommend this to any future rentals and again Becky and her colleague were very flexible with this. The location was an ideal base to explore surrounding areas but we also enjoyed the beautiful garden and along with the views and the Hot Tub!We note that a previous review mentions that some rooms may be due for refurbishment, whilst we note this, we would consider that the photographs on the website were accurate and there was no misleading information, again this is a family home and suited our needs. The Prosecco, chocolates and Dog biscuits was a lovely touch on our arrival- thank you and we really appreciated the flexibility of the owners in our booking. We will be looking at rebooking this again next year subject to other matters within the family. Thank you"

"Our party of 13 including children of mixed ages very much enjoyed our holiday at Woodleigh Grange. It was secluded and private, being in a cul-de-sac next to a golf course. But there were many convenient facilities nearby. It was an easy walk to the local shopping area which included several coffee shops, newsagent, and co-op store. A bit further on there was a Waitrose and takeaways -Chinese, Indian and fish and chips. There were good beaches nearby at Oddicombe and Torquay. Teenagers were able to walk into Torquay town centre for shopping trips and beach, and there was a good bus service for the less energetic. The garden had a large lawned area - good for barbecues, with a garden table and plenty of chairs. The cinema was very useful for evening entertainment. In our case it occupied the children while the adults tended to congregate around the TV in the lounge, but there would have been room for everyone in the cinema. We also found the computer with broadband connection very useful. Any problems were dealt with promptly and effectively by the owner. Aug 2011. "

"The whole family booked for this Christmas week holiday in Torquay and we loved every minute of our stay in this glorious house. It's ideal for a large party with plenty of room to laze around. Some rooms were a little chilly, due to radiator problems, which should really be rectified in extreme cold conditions [especially with the young or elderly], and this would be the only very minor criticism. We enjoyed the splendour and charm of this beautiful house, located in an ideal position close to shops, restaurants and of course the lovely beach. Everyone loved their stay here; it was truly a memorable Christmas holiday for all our family and we'd highly recommend it to anyone. We would certainly go back for another holiday there. The owner was incredibly kind and caring, helping with all our needs and the caretaker gave us a warm welcome when we arrived. All-in-all first class!!"

"A wonderful place and a fantastic landlady. It is a very large house, that could do with a bit of updating..??? Ie showers were not brilliant, but not awful either. We had one day of rain and we all felt totally relaxed just chilling and doing whatever in the house. When the price ( we went mid august) is divided by twelve people, it is very cheap, for everything. All clean sheets, towels etc etc. Fully equipped kitchen.Landlady/owner is in attached property, but will not bother you unless you have a problem or want you want a chat.A biggy is, unless you have a car, it is quite a walk to a bus stop and is on top of quite a long steep hill.....if you have mobility problems. We would not hesitate at all to recommend this place. It has it's quirky side and also it's cared for grandeur side.We would.......sorry, will, be returning."
