Chudleigh, a historic wool town in Devon's picturesque Teignbridge District, is a wonderful day trip destination any time of year. The town's history may be traced back to the Saxon era, as seen by the prevalence of Saxon place names in modern day usage. The town also boasts historical attractions including the caverns at Rock and an Iron Age hillfort that overlooks the area. In addition to its many accommodations, Chudleigh is home to two pubs, an English restaurant, grocery stores, specialty boutiques, and more, all of which are useful during a self-catered visit. All around Chudleigh, you will find beautiful scenery perfect for strolling. If you're in the mood for something more strenuous, you may go rock climbing, kayaking on the River Teign, mountain biking, or hiking in the area. Visit the historic coastal resort of Dawlish for a day of sun and sand, complete with a host of fun activities for the whole family. The majestic black swans of Dawlish may be found in The Lawn and Brook. Visit the historic city of Exeter and spend a day seeing its various attractions, including the magnificent City Walls, the Gothic cathedral, Exeter Castle, and much more. There is no better place to stay in Devon than at Chudleigh, with its proximity to the seaside and the Dartmoor National Park and the exciting attractions of Newton Abbot, Torquay, and Paignton.

The accommodation was top drawer and the site ideally placed for days out and adventure walks. Thank you fire fighters charity for providing this site.

Ours was showing signs of wear eg exterior cracks and flaking paintwork, interior - cracks and flaking paintwork in the main bedroom, some stains on furniture and carpets. The worst feature is the design of the separate toilet, the door opens inwards and there is barely enough room to close it behind you - or open it afterwards ( almost have to stand on the toilet) ; they should open outwards. This was our third visit and I'm sure we'll be back !

Nice walks around the site with gardens and lakeside/forest walks. Cafe and bar onsite with good food and drinks, if a little expensive. Village of Chudleigh is a short drive away with a number of fast food outlets and a Spar and Co-op. Seaside towns easily accessible and just a short drive into the City of Exeter. Would we book there again, probably.
