"We were a family party of 10 adults and 4 children, staying at little lanherne 5th-12th May 2018.We arrived before check in time to be nosey at the exterior, but the lovely cleaner who was there told us we could check in a little early (about an hour). On first arrival, the house is like a maze, with rooms to explore everywhere! Absolutely beautiful. There was a resident cockrel who we named Neville. We became very attached to Neville except for at 5am every day when he said his good mornings to us! There is also a lovely black dog which visits for food. He lives at the neighbouring farm. The rooms are comfy with clean linen and towels supplied. Some of the furniture has seen better days such as the children's beds in the yellow painted room; they were quite wobbly. The sofas in the lounge look tired too. There is ample space, and a huge garden for the children to play in. Bathrooms were well fitted. One bathroom had a broken tap unfortunately, and the plug in the same bathroom was broken too. There is loads of parking. The roads driving to little lanherne are narrow and steep so impossible to go above 10mph - just a heads up. The only issue I found is that the house needs a good deep clean. There are cobwebs everywhere. The house is very very old but it does feel a little grubby. Nothing a thorough dusting and cleaning wouldn't sort out. There were things like sweet wrappers and cotton buds behind dressing table in bedroom, children's toys under sofas etc which prompted us to think that the cleaning wasn't done as thoroughly as it should be between guests. The house is well stocked with cutlery, glasses, plates etc. Some areas of the house seem a little forgotten, such as the games cupboard which is full of part missing games and ripped books. There are no decent CDs or DVDs as most are either just empty cases or totally not worth watching. CD player is very old too, and there seems to be loads of them dotted about, none of which worked? I would recommend a new one.The welcome pack is very outdated; includes a fire risk assessment from 2012 which was factually incorrect in some parts. No guidance on how to use heating either in the pack; found a laminated sheet on the last day which was in with a pile of 2017 Cornwall guides in the kitchen. New guides would be nice too; we did leave a few.My recommendations would be a thorough clean, a nice updated welcome pack, new CD player plus newer CDs, a WiFi booster as it only works in the kitchen and some fuel for the wood burners. Was disappointed to have to go out and buy this! All in all, we had a fabulous time in this beautiful house. We are already planning a return for next year and hope to see some of the minor details mentioned above rectified. Nb; be sure to check out the collection of stones left by lots of visitors on the window ledge outside near the front door. Some are dated back to 2010! We even left our own :) photo attached :) thank you for a wonderful stay with so many happy memories xx"

"We had a wonderful holiday in this beautiful house. The surrounds could not be any better, my son walked to the beach from the house every day with his family and had breakfast by the beach at Mawgan Porth. The house is well-equipped with crockery, glasses, pans and so on. The large kitchen table was ideal for sitting around in the evening, and the little ones loved running from the kitchen through to the living room. Views of the sunset through the double doors in the living room were a highlight. We also barbecued one night, and used the woodburner on several evenings which made the living room cosy. The downside was the patchy wi-fi which was not working at all when we arrived which made communicating with the rest of the family who were on their way tricky!! However my son got it working again (for a while...) Brian was very good at sorting out the odd issue with bathrooms etc. and it was reassuring to have him on speed dial!!I highly recommend Little Lanherne Farm as a real home from home, and perfect for a large family reunion in peaceful surroundings."

"We enjoyed a lovely relaxing week in North Cornwall based in this conveniently located country cottage . The cottage is well equips with everything that you need for a comfortable stay and extra luxuries are provided on arrival such as wine and a yummy Cornish cream tea . We found the bed comfortable and slept well ( it's so dark and quiet in the country - pure peace ! ) and the sofa in the upstairs lounge was also comfy when you got back from many miles of sightseeing in the day . The weather wasn't at its best during our stay but we still managed to make use of the patio seating areas in the lovely private garden on occassions and also the balcony area from the lounge gives great views to the village not far away . We would recommend this cottage to any couple looking for a quiet romantic well equipt cottage . "

"A beautiful cottage in peaceful countryside. Everything you could possibly need in the house. Not for you if you're wanting local facilities (pub/shop etc), but perfect if you want a peaceful rural location as we did. We had been looking forward to our stay for over a year & sadly we were let down as we unfortunately had to complain about the cleanliness of the kitchen. There was also a lot of dust around that had been there for some time. Had to clean down the kitchen after a 10 hour drive (caretaker did offer to come & sort but we were just too tired & did it myself). Disappointed that the DVD player did not work (we look forward to catching up on films when little ones in bed on our holidays!) Negatives aside, a beautiful property."

"This is a fantastic property with a large open plan feel in the double-height lounge area. It has a lovely garden to sit out in as well. It's only 20 minutes drive to the coast all round Padstow down to Newquay and only 45 minutes to St Ives or the Helford Estuary, so ideal if you want to explore. The property is just yards off the A39, so perfect for getting about, but the one downside of this is traffic noise. It's not a big problem (we barely noticed other than the odd late night motorbike), but if you want total idyllic silence then maybe this isn't the property for you. The owner Sam is lovely too!"
