"Garden Cottage is a wonderful place to spend a holiday. We were there at Christmas 2018. The house itself is old and beautifully restored. It's spacious and comfortably accommodated our family of six. Dave and Angie are fantastic hosts. They had decorated the house with a huge tree and lots of festive touches, and left us a thoughtful and delicious gift. They also helped us by providing some extra kitchen equipment when we wanted to bake and even called us up quickly when we left some items behind. In terms of the accommodation, there are four bedrooms. Two are doubles, one is a twin and one is a single. The single has a TV. There are two bathrooms, one serving the bigger double and one serving the other double, the twin and the single. The kitchen is well equipped, although the oven has slight idiosyncrasies which we had to work around. The best room though is the living room which has big comfy sofas and armchairs and a large wood burner. We enjoyed cosy evenings there, but there is also a patio directly outside the living room which would be fantastic in the summer. There are bird feeders out on the patio and there was a constant stream of birds making the most of the food. All in all we would highly recommend this holiday home and would like to return for another visit in the future. Thank you Dave and Angie."

"Stayed in Finkle cottage for a full week after Easter. Lovely location. We had a great holiday. Comfortable cottage with everything you need (except towels, so don't forget to take some)! The kitchen and bathroom are lovely and modern, but shower seriously lacks water pressure. No big deal as there is the bath, but this could do with some attention, especially when the family have returned from a long walk and all queuing for a shower! The cottage had a good sized telly, CD player and outdoor chairs, which we used in the evening. The entrance area was brilliant for removing wet or muddy clothing and drying the dogs before entering the living space. Our dogs slept in there at night, in their own beds with no problems. The location is really handy for catching the launch across the lake. We got off at Howstown and walked back to Pooley Bridge. Fantastic walk with lovely views. Not too difficult either, it said it was 6 miles, but felt more like 4. The lakeshore walk from Glenridding to Howtown is supposed to be 7 miles and it felt like it too! Undulates all along to shore line so a very different walk. Lovely, but more strenuous."

"We loved our holiday with our 3 Cockapoos at Finkle Cottage! So much more space than we expected.. great enclosed large garden next to fields on one side, good to have the parking as Finkle St is tight! Beautifully clean, modern & so well equipped. The only tiny downside was the shower.. no idea how to make the water cooler, it was hot constantly. That small part was no real issue though as we were bowled over by everything else! Pooley Bridge itself is a great location and strolling to the 3 dog friendly pubs at the end of Finkle St, cafes and Chestnut House shop & gin emporium was absolutely fantastic! Ullswater Steamers a worth a trip over Ullswater and our walk to the waterfall at Aira Force was fab. Weall thoroughly enjoyed our stay & very happy with this beautiful cottage! Thank you!"

"Wonderfully spacious ,well equipped comfortable cottage with a roomy yet cosy vaulted lounge that provides the perfect space for a family group to gather in and relax at the end of the day.Garden cottage is situated in a very peaceful location on a working farm just outside Pooley Bridge, the village centre is just a two minute drive away or a pleasant ten minute riverside walk across a field . The farm is surrounded by beautiful countryside and the tops of the fells and glimpses of Ullswater can be seen from the grounds. The owners who live on site are extremely helpful and friendly but not at all intrusive. We enjoyed a very pleasant stay and would definitely return."

"Overall, the stay in Fell Croft was comfortable. We were 8 of us and had a cozy home which had lovely scenery of the Lake District. I recommend this place if you wish to do any scenic route which covers the Kirkstone pass. The Aira Force is 5 miles away too. The only draw back was taking the key from the key box. We arrived late by 11 pm and the key box lock got jammed and we were out in cold opening the key box with a stone and pin. The home owner casually said “yes it gets jammed sometimes”. This is the first accommodation in which I couldn’t meet the owner which we thought would have been lovely to meet them in person for the sheer joy of meeting the locals."
