"Everything from start to finish of the booking process with John was absolutely first class, very professional and very friendly. The online photographs do not do Par for the Course justice, the lodge did actually look fantastic in the photographs and that was obviously what made me and my family of 5 book it, but on approach we were all very complimentary on how it looked in real life and when we entered Par for the Course it just got better and better. From the fabulous downstairs bedrooms and sauna and into the amazing kitchen and dining area with such beautiful views from the vast amount of windows. The dining table and chairs seated all of us very comfortably and the kids loved the bar stools for reading and drawing on. Outside the very long and wide veranda was set with a really large table and chairs all very comfortable and where I spent many hours drinking Coffee and indeed wine (we had a very nice Chardonnay left in the vast wine chiller by John) reading whilst my children were enjoying the hot tub day and night too.Up stairs was the breath-taking lounge that can only be appreciated by actually seeing it in real life. It is absolutely awesome, with a fantastic, huge and comfortable space, seating for 8 grownups, sumptuous carpet, an incredible TV combination, including Netflix, DVD and Radio. Off of the lounge was an outside Veranda again, where I spent quite a lot of time just reading and enjoying the views and smiling to myself at some of the golfers trying to find their lost golf balls (something I can appreciate only too well). From the lounge was our bedroom and en-suite, with the most comfortable and massive of beds I have ever experienced when away from home, everyone commented on how well they had slept in their individual beds and rooms, never really expect everyone to be so happy, so it seemed that Par for the Course had definitely done it's magic yet again. The en-suite had his and her hand basins which was a great addition, as was the shower which was perfect in every sense. The sauna was in the downstairs bath, toilet and shower room which was adjacent to the 2 down stairs bedrooms (perfect). We used the sauna 3 times and I can only say it was yet another lovely comfortable and indeed very clean experience.I am a chef and have to say that the facilities were exactly what I have at my home and there was not one single utensil that it lacked, which I have to say there has never been the amount and indeed varied types of glasses, flat-ware, bowls, cups/saucers, mugs and cooking items I have ever experienced at any other holiday, home or abroad. In conclusion, Par for the Course was our best ever holiday accommodation in the UK and was just an absolute pleasure to experience and live in from start to finish. To top it all off, John came to see us off which was a lovely touch and I was very impressed as he wanted to know if there was anything we thought could be done to improve his facilities, because he was genuinely thinking about improving Par for the Course for his future guests. What a Fantastic Gentleman he is and Oh by the way, we couldn't think of anything at all, Perfect Place and a Perfect Holiday, Thank-you John."

"This cottage and the owner deserve the "Rose Award " ! its a beautiful tastefully appointed cottage cosy and well equipped . We had a lovely stay in this cottage from the 4th of February - we didn't expect the cottage owners to share so much of their beloved cottage with the visitors - but everything was arranged to make the stay homely and comfortable . For instance the owner had thought of places of interest and had put books and information available to help with finding our way around. He was so very kind and rang us before our trip to have a chat and mentioned important places to visit with times and the details to look for in the cottage to support this. A very nice surprise to find some lovely treats awaiting in the kitchen this was a welcome indeed! Although it was February and the heart of winter and sometimes wet outside on a few nights we could enjoy the log burners and the watch the stars in a very black sky through the roof windows. The underfloor heating was a touch of decadence and the heating generally was more than adequate without the log burners when the weather changed. We would like to also thank the wonderful neighbours who were so very kind when we lost our car keys at the end of our stay. ( during their Sunday lunch time too!! )"

"9 of us stayed at Homelands for the weekend and we had a wonderful time. Although some of the decor and furnishings are looking a bit worse for wear, the property was warm, comfortable and the living and dining rooms were roomy enough for all 9 of us to congregate in without feeling on top of each other. The log burner was wonderful and a plentiful supply of logs was available at no extra charge (unusual!!). There was bags of space for all 4 cars to park, in fact we could easily have got more in there. The swimming pool was, like the house, looking well used but the water was warm, maintained at 32 and the pool side showers worked well - we certainly made good use of this luxury (heating of the pool was at no extra cost, again, unusual!!). The kitchen was well appointed, though the hob and oven could do with being upgraded to make it easier to cook for larger groups and the fridge/ freezer(s) are quite small for large groups. We had a bit of a laugh over the plentiful library of VHS videos as we couldn't work out how to play them in the supplied DVD player :-) The house hosted us for a wonderful weekend which we will always remember fondly."

"We had a fabulous week in this quaint bungalow. It is off a fairly main road but we heard very little traffic noise, especially from the rear garden which was fully secure for our two terriers and a nice little sun trap even in March. The kitchen is large and had everything we needed and the shower was fabulous with plenty of constant hot water as required. We found the heating worked well and heated the bungalow quickly, making a very warm and cosy atmosphere. We did find the bed in the 2nd bedroom a rather small double so transferred to the twin room and pushed the beds together for a more comfortable sleep for two adults. It could probably do with some decorating and a deep clean before the real start of the season (behind/under the corner sofa and behind beds) but on the whole it was clean and certainly very welcoming. There is a local shop nearby and the beaches of Sea Palling, Cart Gap and Winterton are very dog friendly and there's also great walking at Bacton Woods. Loads of pubs nearby, all dog friendly and serving delicious food. We were very sad to leave and would not hesitate to return."

"Par for the Course can only be described as amazing! It is a very spacious lodge in peaceful surroundings. It has everything you could possibly need for a great holiday and is spotlessly clean. There is a dishwasher, high chair, washing machine and tumble drier if you need it. A wine cooler too which was kindly stocked with bottles of prosseco! There are plenty of board games and DVDs for both children and adults. We had a short break before our daughter's wedding in November, just what we needed. We spent most of the time in the lodge just relaxing and making the most of the hot tub and sauna. The weather was glorious which contributed to a wonderful holiday. The owner is contactable if you need him, he very kindly allowed us to have a late check out which was much appreciated. Our original booking was for another lodge on the same site but this was cancelled at the last minute by Cottages.com and there was much confusion, so we felt very lucky that John was able to accommodate us in his exceptional lodge."
