Naturally, as the Norfolk Broads are made up of many meandering waterways, a good option here is to take a day trip by boat to really experience the National Park in all its glory. However, here are also many paths to walk and cycle if you’d rather stay on firm ground. Market towns and quaint villages can be found dotted across the Broads so if you need somewhere to stop for refreshment there are plenty of pubs and tea shops to choose from here.

"This is a fantastic place to stay, spacious and well equipped. The owner was friendly and made sure tea and coffee was there for us on arrival and sufficient throughout our stay. He advised about the local takeaways and restaurants. Stayed here in July on a last minute booking. It was really well maintained and everything you could need was provided. The owner Paul met us on arrival and showed us where everything was. The emergency provisions were also run through with us. The property was well equipped for self catering, picnicking, cleaning facilities, local tourist information and entertainment. The bedding was good quality, the towels Egyptian cotton, enough pillows and extra blankets. If I was travelling back that way I would definitely want to know if the property was available again. It was a really lovely village and right on the coast, sea views from 2 of the bedrooms. The local business owners were friendly too. It was also a great location, the only thing that could have been better was the weather."

"We found the microwave had not been cleaned and was splattered with curry sauce, the fridge interior was dirty, several items of crockery were dirty. The front windows still did not open as noted by previous occupant. The bedroom window opens into a passageway where all the chalet boiler exhausts discharge into meaning there is a possibility of breathing various noxious gases while asleep. The bed was hard and uncomfortable as was the sofa, which had several loose buttons which when sat on for short periods caused discomfort. We left after 4 nights unable to take any more."

"This was our third visit to the area and our first to Merlin. It is a really nice place to stay; comfortable, clean, quiet. We liked it being an upside-down set-up because it was cooler sleeping downstairs and convenient for letting the dog out in the middle of the night. Also, we kept the doors open upstairs and it still felt private. The hotel/pub very close by was fantastic too with excellent customer service and delicious food. We aim to visit again, availability permitting."

"Lovely little chalet, was not clean entirely, under sofa was not swept or hoovered, found a dirty cup left under the bed. Walk in shower needed a shelf put in, so you could put soap and shampoo on. Window in the lounge area would not open, reported to the warden on the Tuesday, they said someone would be round to fix it, nobody came, phoned again on Wednesday, still nobody came. Let’s hope these things are put right as we have booked it again for next year."

"A lovely cottage, central to where we wanted to be. It was very hot and had to keep doors shut as we were plagued by wasps. There was a welcome pack a nice bottle of red, thank you.The stars were amazing at night, could see the Milky Way and the next universe.Would appreciate a couple of coat hooks as you come in, but a minor...We would stay again, comfy, clean, well equipped, fun little place. Those stars really were amazing, loved nearby beaches too."
