Snaptrip says

The Haybarn in Thetford, Norfolk, is a well-regarded cottage offering a peaceful and beautiful setting. Guests appreciate the quiet location, comfortable furnishings, and the presence of a well-equipped kitchen. The property's grounds, complete with friendly animals and well-maintained gardens, add to the charm. Some guests noted issues with noise from other cottages and suggested improvements in maintenance and provision of amenities.

Guests that stayed at this property said

Guests consistently describe the cottage as clean and well-kept, with several reviews highlighting its immaculate condition. The presence of animals did not detract from the cleanliness of the property.

The location is praised for its tranquillity and rural charm. The property is described as peaceful, with a beautiful setting that includes a stream and gardens. However, some guests found the remoteness and the single-lane access roads challenging.

The majority of guests found the beds comfortable and the cottage cosy, especially noting the effective heating system. However, there were comments about the double bedroom being cramped and the lounge settees being uncomfortable, which suggests room for improvement in comfort.

Facilities such as the well-equipped kitchen and the powerful shower were appreciated, but several reviews mentioned issues with the cooker, noise from other cottages, and a lack of storage space. The presence of a washing machine was noted, but the lack of drying facilities was a concern for some.

While guests mentioned a welcome pint of milk and the quick resolution of issues by the owner, there were no consistent references to thoughtful gestures such as gifts. Therefore, it is not possible to provide a score for thoughtfulness.

This is the second time we’ve stayed there and it’s a fast favourite! Highly recommend this beautiful property for a truly rural experience.

Parking was convenient to the cottage, which is set in beautifully maintained grounds, complete with stream running through gardens featuring a 'Japanese' footbridge. The surrounding area is tranquil, disturbed only by a low hum of traffic along the distant A47 and, in early evening, occasional overhead visitors from nearby RAF and USAF airbases. Our only regret is that we had booked for four nights. It should have been a lot longer to fully enjoy this delightful holiday rental and its wealth of attractions - zoo and Broads - just a short distance away.
