About this Bed and Breakfast

The Don Bed & Breakfast in Blaenau Ffestiniog is our excellent family run accommodation, ideal for all visitors to the Snowdonia National Park. We boast incredible views of the surrounding fells from the rear of our bed and breakfast, and you’re guaranteed an enjoyable break. All tariffs include a home cooked breakfast in the morning, with a selection of cereals, croissants and toast available before your delicious full English breakfast is served, with a vegetarian alternative also available. We serve two course evening meals upon request, and we have an onsite bar that you can enjoy a quick drink from while you're waiting for your dinner. You can choose from our four rooms, two of which are located at the back of the property and feature amazing fell views. These rooms can be arranged as either twin or double rooms, while the two rooms to the front of the property are double rooms. All of the rooms are en suite and will come equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, a TV and a hair-dryer. We can accommodate families, with a cot and high chair available for babies and toddlers, however, if you bring your own cot children up to the age of 2 can stay with us free of charge. There are also discounts for children under 12 years of age. Children's toys can be provided, and we also offer a babysitting service. A ground floor guest room is also available and suitable for less mobile guests.

We can allow dogs to stay for the small fee of £6 per night, and we can offer single occupancy for those travelling alone. We also have a wifi connection available throughout the B&B; ideal for business guests. If you require an iron and ironing board we are able to supply you with them, and we also have a drying room that you can use should the weather take a turn for the worse. Although roadside parking is limited, we can store motorbikes and push-bikes in our garage, and there is a car park nearby.

The Moelwyn Mountains are accessible from our bed and breakfast, meaning that hill walkers will be well tended to in this area. If you’re unsure of the various walking routes in Snowdonia you can either ask us or use our good sized collection of maps and walking books to plan your day out. Some of the other things to do in Blaenau Ffestiniog include taking rides on the Ffestiniog Steam Railway, the terminal for which is just a 15 minute walk from us. You can also pay a visit to the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, where you can take a tour of these fascinating mines and learn all about the mining methods used there.

Directions to The Don Bed & Breakfast

The Don is situated on the High Street, about 10 minutes walk from the Station. As you leave the station, turn right and walk/drive up the hill. We are on the right about half a mile. We are easily accessible from the North, via Betws-Y-Coed and the A470'`with access to Llandudno, Colwyn Bay and other attractions. From the south'`the A470 from Dolgellau provides good access from Shrewsbury and the Midlands and also to South Wales.

There is a main-line train station in the town and local pick up could be arranged at the time of booking if required.

Major bus routes also go through Blaenau Ffestiniog to all areas.
