What our customers say about their holidays

    • Cheryl - Verified booking

We adored this beautiful, peaceful cottage.

The garden is so pretty- we loved sitting out in the evening over-looking it, drink in hand; when it rained we sat by the cozy fire (as much wood as you want provided at no extra cost). The cottage had all that we needed for a very comfortable week's stay. There was a very thoughtful gift of a jar of local honey and hand-made chocolates waiting for us when we arrived. The village is quaint and tranquil. We often enjoyed a walk out in the evening either around the village or to the local pub; in the day there are many beautiful walks- we particularly enjoyed walking to the watercress fields (and buying freshly picked watercress). The cottage is very conveniently located for many excursions- a week was not enough! On hot days we made our way to the stunning coastal villages which are only about 40 minutes away or at other times we spent our days walking in wildflower meadows or next to glorious, clear rivers by pubs and through villages. Salisbury is also a beautiful place to visit and a day at Stonehenge is a must! We are certain this would be a beautiful place to stay at any time of the year- so we will be back. We may even book the much bigger cottage next door (or both) and bring the whole family!!

Can't praise this little Annexe and the hosts Lucy and Chris enough.

The supplies (food basics and extras, toiletries, cleaning products) and facilities provided were above and beyond - they thought of everything. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need, all good quality. The sofa is lovely and large. The bedding is such lovely quality and the bed very comfy. I didn't want to get up. The views are lovely, even in winter, and there is a safe route to take dogs for walks between the fields and up to the woods. Our dog loved it. We loved seeing the horses too. All made for a very enjoyable stay over New Year. One little thing to be aware of is the steps to the bedroom are quite steep and narrow, so might be difficult for someone with mobility issues. Also, the road at the front of the property does not have pavement in either direction, so its not safe to walk straight out. Car needs to be used to get to anywhere else for walks/ food/ pub/ shops especially in the evening. All in all, we would definitely recommend a stay at the Clarendon Stud!

We loved Kings Cottage North, from first arrival to our departure we enjoyed staying there very much as did our dog Skye who didn't want to leave.

It quickly became our home from home, it's in a perfect setting and was a prefect location for our trips to surrounding areas, always a pleasure to return to it after a long day out sightseeing. The Cottage has a great feel to it, the village is quiet and the locals are friendly, there was much activity around the Church and the Community Centre, the pub and Chalke Village Stores, during our stay there was a wedding of an African Royal Family, you don't get that every day. Kings Cottage north may be small but it holds you, the facilities are first class, though the Sykes site does not make it clear what facilities are provided within the Cottage. Loved it, our stay there was over all too quickly, it's somewhere that we would definitely have no hesitation in returning to.

      A beautifully restored listed cottage.

Extremely clean & welcoming, (especially the welcome pack), comfortable beds & linen. Sumptuous towels! A well equipped kitchen, however a microwave would have been useful as we were self catering. There are a few small criticisms:1) the furniture in the lounge is very uncomfortable & the layout is not very cosy which spoils the rest of the cottage. 2) Extremely difficult for a second person to get in & out of bed in the 2nd ensuite bedroom on 1st floor because there is no room to do so at the side of the bed. It should be stated in the particulars that there is no downstairs toilet which affected one of our guests who is not so mobile & found it difficult going upstairs. But we would recommend the venue to our friends & would return to Enderley. Thank you

We had a superb time at Enderley - it's a wonderful property and a lot of care has clearly gone into the restoration to make this a superb place to stay.

It would be helpful for future guest to provide wardrobes in the bedrooms; we didn't really want to live from our suitcases for a week. There are some small drawers which did not provide enough storage, but drawers are also not always suitable. Also, a microwave is needed. Finally, I need to report that the hot tap was starting to drip in the bathroom attached to the blue bedroom. For future guests, I would recommend taking plenty of dishwasher pods, as it is a slim size, so for 6 guests we were running it sometimes twice a day. If you have a shaver or electric toothbrush, take a plug adapter as there is no shaver socket. These are very minor points though! The house and location are stunning, and we truly enjoyed our stay! Thank you!
