What our customers say about their holidays

One word for the owners Debbie & Tim.

.."Outstanding"....not only are they 2 of the most welcoming, nicest, honest people you are likely to meet, they have thought of everything, you will want for nothing during your stay, but if you do.. consider it done ! The Cottage is very well equipped and beyond comfortable, home from home, you will soon discover no expense has been spared with the quality of goods throughout the entire interior. There is a huge paddock available if your not going off site which includes a pre-prepared fire pit, ample seating around the pit, stand alone bbq, seperate patio with 2 egg chairs, additional sun loungers, tennis net & equipment, goal post net for the kids (big or small kids)...fully illuminated in the evening with a countless amount of solar lights, really nice way to end your day chilling around the fire with a chilled glass of wine. You will also have the opportunity to meet quite a number of chickens and ducks that the owners have on site (ample supply of fresh eggs), if your lucky you may also come across the hedgehog that appears in the evening, plenty of wild life across the whole of this beautiful peaceful site. On the whole, you will not be disappointed, this has to be one of the best, if not the best cottages we have stayed in that is dog friendly, Deb & Tim will make you feel at home from the minute you land to the minute you leave, we will definately be booking again soon and wish Deb & Tim every success for the future. Excellent cottage.

The best one we have stayed in. Lots of extras, in fact Debbie & Tim had worked relentlessly to ensure everything was on hand. Lovely hamper to welcome us, fresh eggs from their own chickens, bread, butter, jam, biscuits, prosecco, squash, milk, chocolates etc. Tea, coffee, sugar, dried herbs, olive oil already in the well stocked kitchen. Everything was on hand, we didn't want for anything. The local pub was 5 mins walk away & we had excellent meals there, & they were very dog friendly too. The cottage itself was very warm with new electric CH & a great wood burner. Tv was a Sky Glass in the lounge & a normal Tv in the kitchen. Both bedrooms were of equal size & the beds were very comfortable. The weather was not good. Storm Bert hit us but we were fine, despite some flooded roads. We still managed to visit local towns & villages. Corston has a Recreation Ground a short walk away & we walked our dog there each day. The cottage came with substantial grounds ( a firepit & children's play equipment) & a large mown field. Ideal for dog walking around late at night because it was illuminated with a mix of solar & sensor lights. The owners had their own chickens & ducks, & fed the birds each day, so there was plenty of wildlife to watch. Hedgehogs were rampant at night time. Apparently one night 8 individuals were sighted! I highly recommend Orchard cottage.

Thank you so much to Debbie and Tim for accommodating us in their beautiful cottage.

The cottage was so clean throughout, had all the essentials that we needed and more, even down to the smallest of details that you would never think about! All rooms were very spacious and comfortable, it really did feel like we were at home. We spent the majority of our time with the ducks and chickens as our daughter loved them, having cuddles with them every day, collecting eggs every morning and having them for our breakfast/dinner. The garden area is huge! Again has everything you need from loungers, to garden games, to a bbq and a fire pit. We would be there for hours just enjoying some family time. The pictures really do not do this property any justice, it is so much better in person, better than we ever expected! Now on to the hosts, they are the friendliest people we have ever met. So easy to talk to, nothing was too much to ask for, loved being in their company and listening to their stories about the animals and learning all their names (Bitsy and Ash the chickens were a fond favourite). We were so sad to leave, but will 100% be coming back next year. Thank you so so much for making our little family holiday so amazing, we look forward to seeing you all again soon ❤️

      Immaculate cottage!

We thoroughly enjoyed our five nights’ stay here. The bungalow cottage was spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and superbly well-equipped. It is situated in fantastic grounds (which our chihuahua, Ricky, enjoyed) with a lovely picnic area around the corner. The owners, Debbie and Tim, live next door and are brilliant - very helpful (including letting us to get close to their amusing Indian Runner Ducks) and great to chat with. The welcome pack included bread, butter, eggs, jam and biscuits, and so was very useful. Debbie and Tim cover so many of the “little things” such as torches for dark nights outside (on the way back from the Radnor Arms), a dog waste bin, dog toys and treats, a range of herbs and spices, plus loads of cutlery and crockery including drinks glasses! And there’s a dishwasher and a large TV (with Netflix and Prime) and a DVD player (with lots of DVDs) in the comfy lounge plus another TV and a radio in the kitchen. There is nothing missing. We go to different places for our holiday breaks, as we like to have new experiences, but if we didn’t do that we would come back here in a hurry every year!

    • Marie - Verified booking

The cottage cottage is beautifully decorated and very well equipped and we very much enjoyed our stay with our very good friends.

But we had to toss for which of us got the bedroom with a door and a bed with easy access for two people, and which of us would have to clamber up the difficult stairs to the doorless bedroom, with a squashed-in bed that one of us had to clamber over to get into, and where there was nowhere to hang anything. It didn't spoil our holiday, but we thought it should have been made clearer in the description of the property that the property is for one couple sleeping comfortably plus one other in conditions more like a kitiwake on a ledge of a cliff. Also, it says in the property description that the cottage has access to a shared courtyard, but there was no key in the lock to the backdoor and there was no sense that this courtyard was something that we shared access to with the house next door. We did appreciate the care that had been taken to provide a beautiful, well-equipped holiday cottage, in a lovely town, but it is a stretch describing it as a cottage for four - we were there for four days - I don't think we could have managed a week.
