"This was a happy find, we stayed for 2 nights whilst we visited family in the area. All beds made up on arrival, towels and tea towels were all provided, all the basics were there, washing up liquid, washing machine tabs, even cling film, foil and parchment if needed. There's a small freezer in the laundry room where there is a washing machine and a small tumble dryer. Hoover provided in the boiler cupboard, it's a basic home from home, you just need your clothes and wash things. We have two dogs that come everywhere with us and it was lovely to find somewhere to stay that doesn't make you pay extra for them, the garden is enclosed but if you have a small dog remember to blocked the side gate as there's a large gap from the bottom of the gate to the floor, nice to see that there was no little surprises left in the garden as not all dog owners are responsible and clean up after their furry friends. There was bits that you could nit pic at but we were overall very happy at finding this hidden gem, the bungalow is on a small estate but the driveway is slightly off the main rd and its in a very peaceful area."

"Very nice cozy retreat for our January holiday. The owners were very friendly and helpful and the cottage was clean, comfortable and well equipped in close proximity to the White Horse and only about five minutes' drive to local supermarkets & pub. Ancient monuments such as Stonehenge & Avebury are only 30-45 minutes away as is Lacock Abbey & the fascinating photography museum. National Trust membership is well worthwhile when exploring this area as it can save a significant amount of money. When we arrived the cottage was very cold although it warmed up very quickly and stayed warm once the heating had been on for a while. We felt that if the owners had put the heating on an hour or so before we arrived it would have felt much more welcoming.WiFi would also have been a nice touch as, although we wanted to get away from everything, the ability to check emails & research the area would have been useful. These two issues aside, I would very much recommend this cottage."

"We had a fabulous week staying in the lovely cottage. It was perfectly situated for visiting so many of the local attractions, such as Longleat, Stonehenge, Bath etc. The local fish and chip shop was delicious. We didn’t risk the local pub based on mixed reviews but The Bell down the road was excellent. Although it shown on the photo the garden is sort of shared, in that there is no fence with the next door neighbour. We didn’t find this a problem as she was lovely, in fact it was quite the opposite. There was a pond with frogs and newts which our daughter loved. The garden was such a sun trap, it was glorious eating dinner on the decking! The owners were very friendly and helpful. Despite concerns we would starve having never cooked on a Rayburn it was fine! We had a BBQ 2 nights and managed to do pizza, pasta and kebabs on the Aga. We would definitely recommend this cottage."

"Cottage is cosy and comfortable but compact. Owners were charming and very helpful. I have had cottage holidays since 1987 - two or three per year so I know what to expect. This is the first time a deposit has been requested and whilst it was returned, it is not a good selling point to ask for one. There were no books, games or puzzles for wet days; the information sheet had not been completed. Lots of info given verbally on arrival but you can't possibly remember it all. Access to wifi would be a good selling point. Parents should know that whilst the garden is at the back of the cottage it is not accessible without walking through the farm yard. This may be a factor for families who would want to supervise their children. The owners were very kind to us but I feel they would benefit from some advice. This is a holiday cottage and not a long term let."

"I found the lodge very comfortable if not a little compact compared to other lodges I have stayed in. I enjoyed the holiday very much but have two small negatives to remark on. Firstly the hot tub was not ready the first night of our stay as not up to temperature at just 26 degrees. My friend and I found Bob who told us what to do to raise the temperature, although there was no way it was going to be ready that evening. My second negative was the weight of the hot tub which was unbelievably heavy. Plus you needed to lay it flat on the ground in case the wind lifted it. If I had gone with my mother or even my sister, rather than a friend we would never have been able to lift the lid off at all. I haven't the most healthiest back so I was worried about the lift. Apart from the above I enjoyed all aspects of the lodge and holiday."
