The Townhouse is set on a traditional, old-fashioned English street corner in the heart of Salisbury, Wiltshire. Oozing with period features and quirkiness, this unique Victorian terrace is positioned perfectly for family and friends wanting to explore the City of Salisbury and the surrounding areas. Sat alongside some of the oldest houses within the city, The Townhouse, is only a few minutes’ walk from the city centre. Inside, the property is very beneficial to its history, with the owners presenting it in a simple, period style, filled with antiques. Relatively basic, it nevertheless is well equipped and very comfortable and represents very good value for money for such a central location. The two bedrooms consist of one double and one single, ideal for resting those sleepy heads after a day of exploring, while the bathroom provides a bath and shower over, so you can get ready in style. Although there’s no garden, you’re in the heart of the city, just a short walk from a wealth of shops, pubs, and restaurants. If you're eager to explore beyond the charm of The Townhouse, a wealth of attractions awaits you. Visit the stunning National Trust property of Mompesson House, where you can admire the beautiful interiors and gardens, or take a trip to The Salisbury Museum for a glimpse of local history and art. For a taste of the vibrant arts scene, head to the Salisbury Arts Centre. Nature lovers will delight in the breathtaking landscapes of Cranborne Chase National Landscape and the nearby New Forest National Park, where you can enjoy the tranquility at Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary or refine your swing at Bramshaw Golf Club. Take a leisurely stroll around Orchard Lakes for a quaint retreat, or venture into Southampton for a lively day out filled with shopping, dining, and cultural experiences. Whatever your interests, your stay at The Townhouse puts you at the heart of it all.
The medieval city of Salisbury is the jewel in Wiltshire's crown, dominated by the majestic 13th century Gothic cathedral. The cathedral offers 750 years of history including Britain's tallest spire, the world's best preserved original Magna Carta, and Europe's oldest working clock. The surrounding cathedral close, full of architectural gems, is bordered by the River Avon and ancient Chilmark stone walls. The city offers historic streets with charming half-timbered buildings, traditional pubs, characterful shops and a twice-weekly market. Or, stroll along the Town Path and take in the awe-inspiring views across the water meadows towards the cathedral. After dark, there's a thriving arts scene, including one of the country's leading repertory theatres, a lively arts centre, cinema and a wealth of independent restaurants. Should you want to explore further afield then a short drive from Salisbury takes you to Stonehenge, the National Trust's Stourhead House and gardens, majestic Wilton House, as well as the New Forest National Park, and the Hampshire and Dorset coasts. There's so much to see and do in Salisbury and surrounding area that your only concern will be finding the time to do it all!
