    About this property

Within walking distance of the busy harbour and beach, this cosy cottage has coastal walks and famous castles all nearby.
This comfortable end terrace holiday home is just a short stroll from the town centre of this friendly fishing town. Reputedly Amble has the friendliest port with a working harbour, along with its marina and nearby beach. With two bathrooms S87819 is an ideal holiday home for families or friends staying together. Amble has some lovely little restaurants and eating places, with an award winning ice cream shop and two fish and chip shops by the harbour. Only 2 miles away is the historic village of Warkworth with its hillside castle, pubs, bespoke shops and pretty riverside for walks. Locals love to walk from Amble to Warkworth and admire the river view and castle on the way. A few miles further along is the ducal town of Alnwick with its famous castle featured in Harry Potter and Downton Abbey. The Duchess’ water gardens with spectacular grand cascade, and the world’s largest treehouse restaurant, should not be missed. Amble is situated on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Heritage coastline, with some of the most unspoilt beaches and picturesque coastline in England, with plenty of foot and cycle paths to enjoy. "Stayed for a long weekend with our young children and my mother. On entering we were blown away by how beautiful the house was, immaculate, clean, and very well equipped, we could not find fault. Will definitely book here again for a longer stay in the future and recommend to friends and family. Thank you"

"Overall excellent and Amble lovely place. If we were to suggest any improvement, if four people occupying a shower in bath or on its own in downstairs bathroom would be beneficial. But generally enjoyed."

"S87819 is a truly 5 star quality cottage for an excellent value for money price. Cleanliness and attention to detail are second to none. On arrival, Angela the owner had left us flowers, a card and homemade flapjacks, a lovely personal touch. It was our first visit to Northumberland and we will definitely be back!"

"One of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in over the years. It was very comfortable and very clean. The house was also very well equipped. The owners left a lovely card, flowers and homemade flapjacks for us on arrival. There was so much to see and do within half an hour drive to the cottage. There was also lovely shops and cafes within a two minute walk from the cottage. We will definitely be back here again!"

"A fantastic cottage to stay in. Everything has been thought of by the owners including a parking space. Lovely touches such as homemade flapjacks and milk upon arrival. Would highly recommend. Thank you."

"Lovely comfortable cottage. Rooms were bigger than we expected. Close to all amenities. Amble was a pleasant surprise. Had everything you would require for a weeks holiday."
    James ‐ 1 Jul 2018
"The accommodation was excellent. It is clean, relatively new and well equipped not only with the essentials but also with games, books, CD's and visitor information. The only thing against it is that it is in a densely populated inner city area and is surrounded by back to back terraced housing. However it is close to shops and restaurants and a short walk away from the harbour. The library and information centre are round the corner as is a bus stop with regular services up and down the coast. Neighbours are very friendly and Amble is a very pleasant vibrant town."

"Lovely cottage nice and comfortable.Cake on arrival was a nice touch along with the milk. Also the folders which had leaflets in them on places to visit .Had a nice meal at the old boat house and the carvery at the wellwood pub on the Sunday all in all a lovely place to stay in."

"My husband, two boys (ages 8 and 6) and I stayed at S87819 for our annual family holiday. The house is deceptively bigger on the inside. It was clean, comfortable and well equipped. It is in the perfect place for exploring Northumberland with young children, as nowhere is more than an hour away. I would happily stay there again and would recommend it to anyone. As my youngest son said "the beds are super dooper comfy". The two bathrooms made getting everyone organised in the morning easy. Lovely house and the owners made it feel special with little touches like leaving milk, homemade flapjack and flowers waiting for us when we arrived."
    Ying ‐ 2 Jun 2018
"The cottage itself is lovely, clean and well equipped. Brds were comfortable. The parking space is quite small if you have a 4X4. The street is quite narrow when theres a car parked behind its hard to drive in and out of the space. One suggestion we would like to make is a electric charging point for a car would be beneficial."

"Could not fault anything about the accommodation or the service provided. Amble has quite a lot to offer, nice harbour with shopping pods, cruises out to Coquet Island and nice eateries. It is within walking distance of Warkworth and its castle and hermitage. It is also handy for driving further up the coast to Alnwick, Alnmouth, Farne Islands and Bamburgh. The Northumberland Coast is very beautiful with some spectacular scenery and beaches."
