    Bellingham Holiday Cottages

Sitting on the confluence of the Hareshaw Barn and River North Tyne, you’ll find Bellingham: a village and civil parish, known for being a stopping point on the Pennine Way. Its cottages provide some much-needed sanctuary for those exploring the area.

Whether you're looking to relax or for an activity-packed break, you won’t be disappointed. The Heritage Centre acts as a local museum, documenting village life through the ages and an 18-hole golf course has stood in Bellingham since the 1800s. While you're there, check out Hexham Courant: a local newspaper brimming with the latest info and feel-good stories. Readings and performances from local authors, storytellers, poets, musicians and dance groups are all common throughout the village streets and the Church of St Cuthbert hosts moving services alongside tours of its unique stone barrel vault.

Snaptrip is proud to offer thousands of holiday cottages across the UK, with every booking covered by our best price guarantee. Filter searches by property feature to find holiday homes with hot tubs, swimming pools, fire pits and more.

      This property deserves 6 stars!

I was in trouble with my wife for procrastinating about booking accommodation in Northumberland. For once in my life, it worked out to my advantage. We were able to book a week’s stay within just a few days of the property being advertised by Sykes for the first time. Margaret’s records showed we were their 5th booking in less than a week. If I had booked somewhere else sooner, as instructed, we would have missed this wonderful place to stay. You will not be disappointed by Granary Cottage. Very well furnished; central location in Bellingham, which is a delightful small town. Lots of space; stylish furniture with big, comfortable beds in the two bedrooms. The kitchen must surely satisfy the most discerning and demanding guest, whether male or female. Margaret, the property owner, is friendly, thoughtful and kind; one of the best we have encountered. We can’t rate this property highly enough; very satisfied customers!

We had a wonderful week here.

The cottage are grade 2 listed converted stables so don’t expect a square box with double glazing. Yes it was a tad cold till heating kicked in, yes there are bits that have seen better days but undertaking any work in a listed building is not a quick or simple job. So if you want all mod cons and square edges this may not be for you. If you love rustic charm, character and the most fabulous setting anywhere then don’t hesitate y to book. The owners and Susan the housekeeper were lovely and sorted a couple issues out for us with no fuss or quibble. The woodlands around are great and if you have dogs they will love it. There is also a little resident flock of Guinea Fowl which we have never come across before and they are such charming birds and very quirky. Bellingham is a great village with really really good food and the residents are genuinely nice and friendly. Nothing to not like. ❤️

Granary Cottage is an absolute gem, furnished to a very high standard, with an eye to detail.

Extremely comfortable bed, which is exactly what is needed after a days walk. Margaret and Robert (owners) are lovely people, offering lots of ideas for walks, restaurants ensuring we had the perfect stay. They are very hard working (cottage is on a working farm) but still had time to meet and greet. This is the best cottage we have stayed in … from well equipped spacious kitchen, lovely snug and super cosy bedrooms. Whilst we had to keep an eye on work emails, (just a little)wifi is super fast. Bellingham is a fab location, don’t miss the walk to the waterfall, and pop into the local shops/cafes … we were lucky to be there when there was a classic car show on Sunday morning… great show of cars, Tea on the train and a visit to the Heritage Centre… to learn about Kielder Forest/dam is a must. A stay at Granary Cottage was so enjoyable, we loved it C&D

We live only an hour away by the coast but fancied a few days' break exploring the Kielder area.

Granary Cottage proved to be the perfect base. A meticulously planned and implemented conversion of old farm buildings, the cottage offers warmth, comfort and very spacious accommodation for up to four people (it would be ideal for two couples). It offers impressive and well-equipped kitchen, comfortable lounge with proper seating for four, and two generous bedrooms with smart en-suites that would put many top hotels to shame. Spotlessly clean on arrival and nice to be left a welcome basket with local treats. The hosts were so friendly and, despite being busy on the farm, were always happy to chat and recommend local places to visit and places to eat. The cottage is ideally placed for visits to many of Northumberland's top attractions. An all round five-star experience. Thank you!

Blissful holiday stay in Bellingham Lovely, spacious and very clean holiday cottage with wonderfully comfortable beds and excellent en-suite bathrooms.

Well-stocked kitchen and care has been taken to make your stay stress free and enjoyable. The owners are super friendly and will offer useful tips about places to visit and things to see. The local Co-op is open every day and has most things you might be looking for. Bellingham is not big but I found no less than 3 public charging points for my hybrid car! During our 1-week stay we explored places like Cragside, Wallington, Vindolander, Corbridge, Banburgh Castle, Amble and the Holy Island amongst others. Tea on the train, an advertised local lunch or afternoon tea venue is definitely worth the visit (especially as it is just around the corner!). Negatives: Nope, can’t think of any!
