"The Old Stable is a purpose built holiday let. Although finished to a nice standard, we personally we found it rather clinical. The sofa in the lounge is rather small so after a long day exploring in the cotwolds it was hard to relax (my partner is 6ft2) and the single beds didn't do anything for the romantic in us ! Looking at the previous occupants the majority appear to be couples so I would suggest the single beds are replaced with a nice big kingsize bed. Also, it was difficult to get a Wi-Fi connection as this is extended from the owners property so the only way to stay connected is to position your device on the window ledge facing the owners house, which made lazy browsing impossible. (you had to perch on a chair by the kitchen sink) plus there was no 3/4g connection either ! The owner did explain he was having some issues with wi-fi and was waiting for the Engineer to come out on Tuesday (2 days after we left), but I did read some similar comments from 3 months ago so I would check before booking. All in all, a good location for Bicester shopping village, a clean and well maintained property, with some lovely touches such as the lemon cake on arrival, but this didn't make up for the rest ! To be honest we left a day early as we wanted to wake up in our own comfy bed and browse the web :)"

"Almost everything was ok. The only is: it would be very nice if it was clear that the height of the ceiling in the kitchen was not high enough when you are 1.88 m tall. Every time my husband had to bow his head when he was half way in the kitchen. The same for the door openings or when he had to go up the stairs. One time he was not alert and he bumped his head, which hurt a lot.Fortunately he didn't have to see a doctor as his head is quite hard. If we had known before, we would not have chosen this house.Whereas the kitchen was a nice kitchen with really everything you need, and the bathroom was very nice and light too, although we couldn't get the right temperature of the water. It could not be altered. For me the temp was always a bit too hot! When the WIFI didn't work alright, my husband phoned the owner and het immediately tried to fix it, which was very nice !! Also the welcome in the fridge was very nice. We appreciated that!"

"Lovely cottage, very cosy and everything you needed was there, nice to have the bread, milk, bacon and eggs in the fridge when we got there! Tea, coffee and sugar too! Lovely view from the decking, good to watch the horses.Pub just next door was very welcoming and had good food, we ate there three times and all the food was freshly cooked and really nice.Local walks around plus plenty to do in the area. Couple of National Trust places not far away, Banbury was enjoyable to walk along the lock and it had a good little museum. Stratford not far away and it was lovely to walk along the river there and generally explore. We caught the train into Oxford from Banbury which was straightforward and not costly.Would definitely go back to the area, our puppy would be able to walk further afield then so we could explore more!I would recommend the cottage and area for a leisurely break."

"I have stayed at this property with my partner 5 or 6 times. We use it as a weekend getaway. It is a good location. Near to Chipping Norton for a drink and shopping for food. Or a day trip to Oxford (use the Pear tree park and ride for ease). It is a cosy cottage with a great log fire. Once you are inside you can close the door and relax. Always clean and tidy with some essentials provided. The local pub (Tite Inn) is a short walk up the road and has a great selection of beer and the food was also really good. Best to book a table for the evening sitting. Owners are always pleasant and leave us to it with key ready on arrival. Nice parking space right outside. We will be back again soon."

"Good cottage, very clean, excellent shower, comfy beds, two chairs in lounge could have been comfier but Ok for short periods. Problem with the fridge/freezer, the fridge part apparently not working and only just kept cool by the freezer below. Brought to the attention of the owner who was unable to get an engineer out until the day we left. The other issue is the fire alarm in the kitchen is so sensitive that every time you open the oven door the fire alarm goes off. The solution is to take or buy a cheap shower cap to put over he alarm when cooking. Remember though to remove it afterwards!Handy location for several counties and the main section of the Cotswolds."
