What our customers say about their holidays

The Old Stable is well presented and a wonderfully equipped holiday home.

Everything has been provided to an extremely high standard. Despite dire weather predictions our stay was not interupted by the sound of raindrops. All good so far. This is very much a working farm and as such the sound of tractors working from 7am should not be unexpected. Another aspect worthy of note during spells of warm weather was the abundance of flies......again not unusual on a farm but preparing food is not a task for sharing with our six-legged friends. A country property was chosen for walks and enjoying the outdoors. It is not feasible to walk from the door, therefore the car is required every day . . . . Herein lies my final gripe..The A40 is a busy road and joining it is a nightmare. Forget trying to turn right because a sufficient gap is as likely as a fly swatter having a success rate capable of deterring the other house guests. Engage power setting, turn left and trust other road users are taking notice. Walking the 1.3 miles to the nearest pub was possible but conversation, bar shouting, has to be conduced during breaks in the traffic. Our stay was enjoyable and the area is full of beautiful destinations - honourable mention to the warm sausage rolls from the butcher in Burford. These and his own pork pies are not to be missed. There is little the attentive owners can do about any of this and as such my comments are aimed purely at the expectations of prospective holiday makers. Nature has her own way of retribution - on our return home our south facing windows had their share of uninvited flies!!!!

Nice and spacious modern cottage, also if you are a family of 4 (there was only two of us).

Games and jigsaws etc. available, big tv screen. Well equiped although we missed a wooden spoon to stir in the pans. What we also missed was manuals: the little book provided a lot of information, but it took us a long time to figure out that the hot water for the upstairs shower and sink was also coming from the switch for the heating downstairs. And things like microwaves are different everywhere, so yes....some manuals would help. The house looked clean when entering, but was rather dusty. And the bed was not as big as we expected from the description unfortunately, but the matras was good!! Everything was well thought through though, (coasters near the bedside tables etc.), the "landlord" (we think the real owner was on holiday) was very friendly and helpful (brilliant tip about parking and the busses to Oxford!) and we had no noise or problems at all from the nextdoor attached house or from the farm. All in all a really nice experience.

We chose the property for its location and good feedback and feel it met the brief on all points.

The property is located on a farm ( even though it’s located very close to the A40 ) so many expectations could be had, we visited during a period when the cattle were still out in the fields but if they were in the barn then you would only be 20 mtrs from their location with all the nuances that would entail. The property itself is very well appointed and provides all the facilities you would require when catering for yourself, excellent shower facilities and very comfortable bed.Eynsham and Witney are the closest amenities where all services can be found, Peartree P&R is currently the closest should you want to visit Oxford, however the new P&R at Eynsham ( fully constructed but not accessible as of Sept 24 ) will be only 2 -3 miles away when fully operational.

We have just returned from a fantastic stay at Kingfisher, 2 The Old Stables.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome with a vase of beautiful flowers and yummy biscuits inside waiting for us. The family were very accommodating with our children, introducing them to all the animals and even letting them feed Joey the lamb. The accommodation has been finished to a very high standard, with an outdoor seating area overlooking the pond. The property is perfectly located for a stroll down to the River Thames, local pubs with great food or a day trip to Oxford for a bit of culture. This property is perfect for a young family, walking enthusiasts or someone looking for a peaceful and relaxing break from city life. We will return and recommend to family and friends.

The cottages have been recently renovated to a lovely standard with nice features and all The essentials needed for a family break.

Our young children loved the trip - feeding a lamb in the stables was the highlight for our toddler, together with meeting the farm owners who were very welcoming. And there was lots more to see close by including horses, sheep, cows, tractors etc... a real experience for our city kids! It’s a short walk to the local village where the pub restaurant’s food is very tasty and service is family friendly, albeit a little pricey. And within a short drive there’s lots more to explore - splendid villages, pubs, walks and the farm shop with a great animal area and playground. We didn’t venture to Oxford or the Cotswolds as time was short but would imagine they are easily accessible from here too.
