Gwynedd, Wales is an ideal holiday destination. There are plenty of activities to do regardless of the season. In the summer, visitors can enjoy the lush countryside and rolling hills of Snowdonia National Park. There is plenty of walking and biking to do in the area, alongside canoeing and rock climbing. During the warmer months, visitors can take in the beauty of the Welsh coastlines, visit historic castles, or go for a dip in one of the many crystal-clear lakes.

Self-catering holiday cottages with hot tubs offer the perfect accommodation option for those seeking a relaxing holiday with added flexibility. Set in stunning locations like Gwynedd, our huge range of cottages offer everything from cosy interiors, to modern amenities, hot tubs and patios for those warmer days. Secluded and spacious, each holiday cottage typically includes a fully-equipped kitchen, allowing guests to cook meals to their own tastes, as well as a living area, garden and wifi for maximum convenience.

What our customers say about their holidays

    • Sandra - Verified booking

It is a beautiful home, spacious and comfortable and in a great location.

The kitchen is fully equipped and there are lots of books and games. There is very little outside space however. It would also have been useful to have a folder with equipment instructions (which were shoved untidily in a kitchen drawer), local information, nearest GP and pharmacy etc rather than long verbal recordings from the owner The only reason I have not given top rating is due to the fact that we arrived, with 2 small children, to a dirty house which had not been cleared/cleaned from the previous guests. We tried unsuccessfully to get hold of the owner, listed as the emergency contact (and neither could Menai Holidays). We then tried to contact the cleaning company direct who, after initially getting cross, told us it was her wedding day and no clean had been booked. She sent her team, all wedding guests, to do an emergency clean. I cannot praise this team highly enough, they were quick and thorough and very pleasant to us. We then discovered the hot tub was not ready for use, despite you, and the owner, confirming in writing that it would be. We continued to try to contact the owner about this, and eventually she left long and rambling voice messages saying she had booked everything and had double checked herself (obviously not!) but had asked the hot tub company to come out. During the course of the week we had ongoing problems with the hot tub drawing out due to a leak so had to keep filling up ourselves, it had obviously not been thoroughly cleaned after previous guests and the temperature gauge was incorrect (we had our own thermometer so could check). It meant that our party, who had only booked this property as we wanted full use of a hot tub, could actually use it twice during the week as too cold.

The property is ideally situated in a very quiet road about 400 yards from the beach and within easy walking distance to shops and several restaurants.

The garage was superbly equipped with toys for all ages! The sea view from the upstairs windows covering the estuary, sea, hills and castle was picture postcard material. The grandchildren were particularly enthusiastic about their bunk bed room with its nautical theme and unique lighting scheme. The house was beautifully decorated and very well equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, full height fridge, and extra freezer in the garage. More than enough cutlery and dishes. The colourful and well maintained rear garden with its hot tub and lawn provided an excellent two level enclosed play or relaxation area Furnishings had been thoughtfully chosen and complemented with interesting lighting schemes. The single track railway line at the bottom of the garden was not a problem and never a noise nuisance. More than adequate parking for 3/4 cars. The main bedroom and with ensuite shower and bath provided a superb and large escape area for grandparents. Multiple televisions around the house were largely unused as there was too much to do! The house more than met its claim to be a ten person unit. We felt that this was a superb beautifully presented home where the owners had completed a total make-over and simply left it to us to enjoy.

The property was great, super layout for two families sharing, with comfy beds & good storage.

Walking distance to beach and great location to explore from. Things that would benefit from attention, the microwave light was permanently on which is unusual/hazardous and wasn't usable, timings on the extractor fans in bathrooms could be shorter as a night time visit could keep you awake for 30 mins waiting for silence, a welcome folder would be useful details such as how to operate appliances, hot tub, lighting, wifi etc. The hot tub was not working at the time of our visit & the host arranged for a maintenance visit, a part was required so refund arranged. I suspect a good number of families are booking this property as it has a hot tub, and have like us compromised on the outdoor space. Although faults can occur, it would seem that more regular checks on the hot tub are required - if this is a facility that isn't reliable then perhaps it should be removed. Automated systems in place for payment, and sharing of property information leading up to break. If you need to contact Menai Holidays you will find this challenging. 'Due to high demand, we are currently unavailable'. This company is linked with Sykes so it's a little confusing who to follow up with.

Absolutely stunning property; cleaned to perfection and everything you would EVER need to hand.

I've never been in a self catering home with so many kitchen utensils, condiments and extras before! I can assure you if you have forgotten something they will have it; this place had much more than my home!!! My daughters loved the toys, games and hot tub which backs onto the golf course with sheep running around freely! The property is not overlooked at all as it has trees surrounding it, golfers are few and far between and the community hall next door wasn't open. The dogs loved the garden and we loved how enclosed it was including the drive way so the dogs could be let in and out of the car without worrying about the road. Such a quiet, relaxing and comfortable place, perfect for our family to explore Snowdonia and Anglesey. We did walk into Porthmadog and took the circular route which wasn't ideal for pushchairs but a beautiful walk nonetheless. Black Rock sands down the road perfect for all the family. Owners were on hand when we had a query later on the week and they were so lovely and accommodating. I would highly recommend this wonderful property to anyone and would love to come back and stay again!

We had an amazing time at the Seagull Shack.

It was absolutely beautifully presented and all the fixtures and fittings were to the highest standard. I commented to my husband how comfortable all the furniture was. The beds and bedding meant we had the best nights sleep. Our family loved the hot tub and as the weather wasn’t always the best during our week away we made use of it every day. We had a little trouble on one of our days with hot water but the owner was absolutely on the ball and had someone round to help within 15mins and got it fixed in the same morning. Top customer service. Nearby the house is lovely too with lots of little cove beaches that we preferred to the big Black Rock Sands. We also walked into Porthmadog on the coastal walk which was so scenic and enjoyable. Right next door is a very tasty chippy for the nights you can’t be bothered cooking in the very well stocked kitchen. And a great beach bar just down the road which had live music on a weekend which me and my daughter loved. All in all one of the best holidays we’ve had. We would definitely recommend and return in the future.
